Youth rifle to keep

I bought my daughter a compact Tikka in 7mm08. She is off to college and lost interest in hunting. So, I bought a factory take off stock and using it this year for hunting. It’s a great lightweight and great shooting rifle. I used it last night to fill my dear tag.

A mossberg patriot in 350 legend has been her trainer. Taken a couple deer with it. Pleased with its performance given its price tag

It is 7mm-08 and it is actually a lefty. It’s never been shot. PM me if you are interested in it for your son.

How old is your daughter? That hawkeye is gonna be a bear to hold up and shoot steady depending on her age and strength. I went the compact tikka 223 route and I'm glad I did.

I've chimed in on so many different "what rifle for my age XX kid?" threads that I thought I'd try to consolidate my thoughts here. My oldest son is 14 now, started shooting centerfire rifles at 9. My younger kids started shooting centerfire rifles at between 5-7 yrs old. 5 kids shooting now...
