I recently bought a MR ski touring pack. Doesn't seem that this ski touring line has done particularly well breaking into the marketplace and has limited distribution. I have to imagine that line will be axed in 2025.
MR has fit a bit of a void offering solid packs at a more affordable price point than many of their competitors in the hunting, military/tactical and possibly wildland firefighter realm. These sectors seemed to be their bread and butter more so than recreational backpacking where there is stiff competition.
I think that with Yeti, you can expect to see MR as more of a lifestyle brand. Bring the packs up to a cost inline with SG, EXo, Kifaru and market them as must have accessories the same way a tricked out overland Jeep is not complete without a Yeti cooler strapped to the hitch haul. We'll probably see MR trash bags that strap on to the spare tire, Yeti Tumbler holsters. They'll probably keep the fundamental designs, but don't expect any further innovation.
