I geek out on this being an off road Jeep guy. You would be amazed at how underprepared people are for being off road and away from "help". I have a quick spreadsheet check list that I print out before any trip just to make sure I don't forget anything. I do get complacent as I go out minimum once per week and usually have everything in there already; but for big trips like multi day camping/scouting/backpacking/hunting, I always get the list out and check it twice.

The biggest ones that are purely specific to a vehicle are the following...

.Tire patch kits and knowing how to use them
.Full size spare and check the air pressure on it
.Portable air compressor (my jeep has one under the hood)
.Tools to fix issues (hand tools, electrical bag, battery tools)
.Temp resistant 2 part epoxy for patching leaks
.1 full bottle of oil, coolant, power steering fluid, tranny fluid, etc. to get you out of bind.
.Spool of fencing wire and plyers (I've had to tie up multiple exhaust/suspension components with ratchet straps and wire.
.Good ratchet straps
.Extra water, extra extra water, extra extra extra water.
.Extra non-perishable food.
.First Aid Kit
.Extra fuel cans already full and ready
.Fence wire cutters
.Sawzall with metal blade and long pruning blade

I'm not a "prepper" really at all but my Jeep is ready to load the family into and get to wherever we need to get to. Cut fences, cut locked gates, etc. whatever it takes to get around highways and roads to get to safety.

I'll post up a screenshot of my full checklist later.

I now carry a slime kit, especially in MT as I think they build some of their roads with broken beer bottles and roofing nails.

My pick up is like Mary Poppins bag, you younger guys probably have no idea what that is,
You just keep pulling out stuff over and over and over. I also have a "MacGyver" Box that I can just about rig or fix anything with.

I just put together a kit for my new to me tracker. It all fits in a cabelas ice fishing kit which is about 3' long and has lots of organization.

Tow strap
Booster back
Booster cables
Shackles
Zip ties
Duct and electrical tape
Grease monkey gloves
Folding shovel
Agawa canyon saw
Hatchet
Headlamp
Sol emergency bivy
Puffy jacket
Tarp
Parachord
Tire patch kit

There's also my winter boots with other cold weather gear in the back and a blanket. I also have a small toolkit stashed with the spare tire jack. I haven't been carrying spare fluids but probably will before any long trips.

Too much crap of what I don’t need. I can embarrassingly junk a truck quicker than Joe Dirt’s parents.

One of the ambitions for this upcoming year .. keep the truck cleaner… its bad enough it’s getting to me

2 packs of butt wipes … ride with me and you’ll find out why there’s two packs

Assorted unorganized clothing.

Pair of dog leashes

A neck pillow for pulling over and sleeping if need be on my long commutes

Usually a roughed out decoy head and carving knife and sandpaper for entertainment purposes.

For Christmas this year my future mama in law got me a combo jump box / compressor

So additional question to this thread …. How are y’all organizing this skit ?
Pics for reference would be awesome

In my main truck (2018) I keep a portable air compressor (viair), hole plug kit (blackjack?), took kit to include needle nose pliars (I needed them once really bad and didn't have any), cumalong, various rachet straps, high lift jack, bolt cutter (yes- I have needed them), plastic construction bags, and my old waterproof digital camo jacket. I also keep various flashlights around- usually at least one one me. Self protection does not belong in the truck- it belongs on you. I also keep extra oil and antifreeze in the bed.

One thing nobody has mentioned is some cash. I keep $20 buried under all the other crap in my center console like sunglasses, multitools etc.. you never know when you might need some cash but obviously keep it hidden so as not to invite a break-in
