First off I wanted to start this off with a big thanks to the Gritty Bowmen podcast. I am planning my first ever backpack hunt and found them as I was reasearching what I was getting into, they have pointed me in a direction it would have taken along time to find myself. They have opened my eyes to gear, fitness and diet along with many other things. So to answer the question I posed:
Whitetail backstrap steak that was grilled
a couple spears of asparagus
and a Sweet Potato with whipped cream
As I ate this meal I am reminded of my late father-in-law who introduced me to hunting, this deer was the last deer that we processed together before he passed.
Just wanted to say thanks to all of you guys and gals out there I have been reading as many posts and topics that I can to get ready for the upcoming hunt and there is lots of great info out there. I wish you all the best this season where ever each of you may go.
