I think the using our resources on testing is a big mistake. Testing doesn’t help the situation much. It’s just desirable to satisfy our curiosity. Also, it will help spread the disease. Think about it, much of our health care workers are being used, and exposed to the virus for testing. All sorts of people will be exposed unnecessarily by going to testing facilities for allergies or the cold. In the end, the only thing that is necessary is our ability to treat life threatening symptoms. We need to put all of our efforts into keeping people alive!

How dare you come on here and spread that common sense nonsense.

I can't speak to the high population/outbreak areas but in rural areas you're not getting tested unless you're sick enough to be admitted the hospital.

We have to remember that the whole approach to this stuff is being modified and changed on a daily basis.

I should mention this is work related and not personal use. So I won’t embellish too much. But yes. Paper bags. In the back of an ambulance.

Your disposing of the masks that way or storing them to re-use that way?

My daughter is a city police officer, Monday she was assigned to maintain order at a city testing facility. Today she is home sick with Corona symptoms. Completely agree with futility of testing, as results don't impact treatment approach.

I think testing is important.

if tomorrow we found out that there were 10x the cases, the number of citical case % and death % would drop precipitously. Not having a grasp on total case gives the wrong impression of how it is actually affecting people. Each positive case is seen as another notch in the grim reapers belt. Context is important here.

Staff at my wife’s hospital are being told they need to operate elevators for people. Sometimes standing INSIDE the elevator with sick pts.

What in the living ****???

Ok, let me break this down for everyone. Unless other areas of the country have stock piles of test for carona these drive through " testing" places are not doing actual test. They may be talking to the pt asking questions and checking vitals ( any possibly unintentionally spreading it) but actually doing a test to confirm having carona NO. It takes a lot and I mean a whole lot where I work for someone to actually get CDC approval to do a test and then it still has to be sent off to a lab somewhere to be checked. In my area a guess would be 1 actual test for every 500-1000 patients visiting an ER..
Also these mask that everyone are supposed to wear in my opinion wont stop a damn thing, if the cheap mask won't stop dust long term it sure as heck won't block a microscopic viris. I could go on and on about what I think about the way I am seeing things handed but I won't, I know everyone in the ER and hospitals are trying rheir best.
I will say this stuff is going to spread because I think way more people have it than what are being tested.
Also, if you only test these folks that are clearly really bad bad sick yeah your death rate to infection #'s will be high. No idea how bad this stuff is but I know one coworker has it now and I would bet before it's over most of us will as well.
So be safe and heck maybe a self quarantine may be a good idea, I just dont know.

Did they say why? Some of these rules seem increasingly counterproductive.

Universal testing is not feasible and will not be done ... only those with 'symptoms' will be/should be tested per Dr. Fauci /Task Force .........

Compare U.S. cases to South Korea's cases and re-evaluate.
