I would wager it has something to do with smoking. From some quick searching, Italy has over 11 million cigarette smokers and it appears to be particularly prolific with men aged 25-44. Smokers are also 1.6 times more likely to be men.

China has the largest population of smokers in the world with a much higher prevalence in men.

I know for a fact a very top-level, smart hospital is shooting x-rays through the window of pts rooms. The x-ray is never in the same room as the pt. They put the plate Behind the pt, sit their bed up and zap.

In X-ray you figure kV and mAs, not sure what the parameter is for window.

That and we're just generally less healthy than women, especially as we age. How many wives tell their husbands they need to eat healthier and quit bad habits? Lol.

That would be great if we were doing x-ray images these are all CT chest exams and nobody is being let into the main facility with symptoms.

All of those little factoids are reasons it is dangerous to just point fingers and and conclude things will be the same everywhere.

Italy is an unmitigated disaster! I feel terrible for them as an entire country. This virus is ravaging them and only showing acceleration.
 
This world has survived two World Wars, Vietnam, Korea, and much more before this Wuhan Virus crap .. some here act like this is the end... no, it isnt, this country and others will carry on and we the great UNITED STATES OF AMERICA will be stronger (as long as the dems/socialists/libs/commies (all one in the same) dont gain control) ... the end of the world is forth coming, the Sun will burn out in billions of years, or another asteroid will connect with us, or possibly a Sun flare or gamma ray burst will get us, etc. ..... but in the mean time, I'm going shed hunting/scouting Saturday and I will carry on with my life as I always have .... ...

The "i'm gonna do what i damn well please" attitude is the base of the problem with spreading this thing.

Folks who spread it should be removed from the general population.
