Florida just extended school closings until april 15, but possibly the full year. all bars and clubs closed for 30 days and as dumb as it sounds they restricted restaurants to 50% capacity? but the beaches are open here and packed full of spring breakers. i had a charter today and they where from NY and said they went to eat out last night and there was a wait of people outside and their hotel is complete booked.

all this just doesn't add up.

guess we hit 100 deaths today marshal law must not be far behind .

"The grim milestone comes as health officials tout a consistent message: Limit your interactions now or overwhelm the health systems meant to take care of you. And get used to it, this won’t be over soon". from my local new.

grim milestone? 100 people since jan 20th? are you kidding.

I just passed on what was posted, there are regulations that allow me to leave my home also but those could be suspended.

To clarify what he said was the RBC branches where he lives were closed, yukon not Alaska.

Thanks for clarifying, but EXACTLY my point as why not to post hearsay under the circumstances.

Well, we’re really on our way to 2.5 million. Somebody that’s good at math if we lose 100 people every two months how long will it take us to get to 2.5 million. Before anybody says it yeah I know the curve, so let’s up we lose 300-400 people every two months how long will it take us to get the 2.5 million

There are regulations which essentially prohibit that. So not only do I doubt that on any widespread scale, I would also question the spreading of inflammatory hearsay.

I know of some instances in the lower 48 of bank branches closing that are located on the campuses of colleges that are closing, but that is it.

A branch is allowed to close for a maximum of 48 hours during normal operating hours. Beyond that they have to apply for an extension. Every bank must do pandemic planning preparing for losing 40% of their work force and still functioning.

In the event a branch needs to quarantine they have two options, move other people there, or close temporarily if there is another branch reasonably close. If they must be closed for more than 2 normal business days they must get a waiver from the FDIC, and state banking commission.

At this time if we have only one available employee at my branch we will function as best we can. So everyone can access their funds.

The worst thing that can be done is cause fear around banking and cause a run for cash. If you hear people saying banks will close reassure them that the American banking system will remain open at all costs!

Now services could be limited to ATM, drive thru, and mobile banking. But access to your cash will remain. If you see actual banks closing their doors completely and not Offering services, you will know shit has gotten very bad in that area!

* Meant to quote ZAP's comment. And not say that he said they were all closing, just letting everyone know not to panic about banks!

Our bank on base closed today due to not having a drive through. Banks with a drive through are open as well as atms, and banking online. I'm sure with the hearsay going on that the original poster saying banks closing was was just not told the rest of the story about only banks without drive through service is closing.

That's the thing, it isn't the case that banks without drive-throughs are closing. Why fan the flames by posting things that are untrue?

The issue with the prior hearsay was that it was not true. Either that or the poster doesn't know the Yukon is located in Canada and that Canada is not located in the United states.

Guys, fact check. Your reputation and credibility will thank you.

So no real basis for the comment other that more people got sick and died during the totality of the H1N1 outbreak than have so far in the infancy of COVID-19 outbreak? Even though the communicability and death rate of COVID-19 has massively outpaced H1N1? That seems massively short-sighted.
Says the guy using numbers published with an asterixs. And those numbers trending down, hence the asterixs.

Tell you what get back to me in a month with your scary numbers. We'll be starting onto the backside of the curve about then. The way Italy and Iran are now. There aren't going to be as many cases of Covid world wide as there were H1N1 cases in the US.

Well land somewhere between Italy and China for total cases with a lower death rate.

350 every two months, you say? That equates to 14,285 months or 1,190 years. We might as well give up now.

this wont be as bad as the media and the Dems are making it out to be, in the end Trump will be able to say we did the right things, we had a good team and it worked out .... I'm not worried about this in the least bit, I'll go to work, and live my life as usual ...

Just keeps getting worse. I mean it is coming up on 4 mos now, 165 countries affected and 7,900 total deaths. That 6,900 per day is just around the corner.

Or if you want to use the current scary death rate everyone is touting. 4 mos, 7,900 deaths, we should hit that 2.5 million figure about 2124.

If your saying what I posted is untrue I can send you the phone number to the credit union that sent me the email about it closing the bank on post and why.

Been lurking on this thread for a while, here are my thoughts.
You have a far better chance of getting killed in a car crash than dying from the coronavirus.
What everyone should really be afraid of is being laid off, period.
I work in the restaurant business, you can imagine what’s happening to my profession.
“Prepping” doesn’t just mean water, 2000 rounds of 5.56, and a few months of MRE’s, prepping also means having enough in savings to cover rent, food, and car payments for 3 months.

Hard lessons learned coming soon to many.
