that's crazy. lol definitely no dates for that in Canada. Can't legally pick them up until May 1st in Colorado.
HEYYYYYY!!!! That was you???? So that's where they went DAMMIT !!!How would they catch people that just stash them in the trees and then come back for them in May? Seems like it would be difficult to prove and unfortunately I think is what a lot of people are doing now. A couple years ago I found someone's shed stash that had 5 elk antlers tucked under a tree.
Way more people in Colorado and other western states. The concern has been harassment of wildlife on critical winter range.that's crazy. lol definitely no dates for that in Canada.
Come on... 60 year old white dudes gotta get in trouble for something. What a complete waste of time, money, you name it, staking out a horn. “we have a 60 year old white male who just picked up a shed, pull him over or release the dog?”
No worries about wolves chasing them all over though.Way more people in Colorado and other western states. The concern has been harassment of wildlife on critical winter range.
Especially during bad winters it could hurt the herds. people used to chase deer and elk around trying to get the sheds first.
Yeah this always cracks me up. CPW conducting herd counts with helicopter ambushes is fine (seriously watch a video of that for a complete WTF moment). Wolves chasing herds around is fine.No worries about wolves chasing them all over though.
You won't get arrested for that as long as cash stack hunting season is open at the time.sounds like entrapment to me. That’s like leaving a chipped stack of cash on the ground and arresting someone when they pick it up.
Thank you for your righteous advice.....Don’t break the law and you don’t have anything to worry about. I hope they bust everybody in Colorado stashing antlers in April.
Lol. The antlers in the stash I found were not in great shape anymore and looked like they had been there at least a year. It was clear that whoever stashed them either forget where they were or never came back for them.HEYYYYYY!!!! That was you???? So that's where they went DAMMIT !!!
Or tie some 100 lb monofilament to a shed and hide in the trees like the prank where someone ties fishing line to a 20 dollar bill on the sidewalk.I've always wanted to figure out a way to stake one to the ground and watch people try and pick it up.
Taken about April 4th this yearIs that a recent photo or from the fall?
My guess is that the CPW probably isn't baiting antlers on private property, unless there is a locally known reason to, i.e: a large and visible herd frequents that pasture, or trespassing claims from the landowner.
Even if the antler isn't "chipped," there's a chance it's being watched in one way or another.
I imagine that the threat of antlers containing a microchip is probably more of a deterrent than is the reality of actually picking them up.
It looked real on the road side, until you watched it for a minute. It had the remote control head just looking left and right. Decent 6x rack. That’s awesome. Was it realistic? Bull or cow? Was it on private or were they just trying to get people shooting from the road? It would be pretty funny if someone figured it out and parked and ran 50 feet off the centerline and started lighting it up.
I know someone that did this is another state. Drove 100’ down to a pull off, came back and went the required distance from the road. They were legal and although the warden talked to them, no tickets. That’s awesome. Was it realistic? Bull or cow? Was it on private or were they just trying to get people shooting from the road? It would be pretty funny if someone figured it out and parked and ran 50 feet off the centerline and started lighting it up.
