Yep. Even if it’s expertly packed they will do everything to find a way to blame it on the packing job and deny the claim… this is after dragging out their investigation for months, of course.First, Pirateship is the way to go.
Second, I wouldn't bother with the insurance. Trying to get them to pay out is a giant pain. I just went through it last month for a 100 dollar item. I just gave up and cut my loses. I doubt they are going to be more accommodating the more they owe.
As a side note, if your mk4 hd failed I’d (and I assume others) would be interested in hearing what went wrong with it.

Why is Leupold making you ship their product back for warranty work? They should have UPS pick it up at your door. It would cost them $17.00ish dollars. I used to work for an Optic company and never once did we make someone pay for shipping on a legit warranty claim.
