So, just got a Tikka T3X lite veil wideland. 6.5 Creedmoor because I don’t need more recoil to take a deer.

Looking to hunt to 600ish and shoot to 1000ish. Optic had plenty of travel. Optic is a Viper PST Gen 2 3-15x.

Just trying to decide UM Rings vs MT Pic Rail and Warne/Vortex rings. Semi weight conscious, but mostly want tough. Are the UM rings rock solid? Seems odd they are not 7075….

I've mounted two sets of UM Tikka rings for people. They appeared to be a nicely made ring. Hidden recoil pin hardware and well finished. They aren't the nicest I've handled but totally fine. I personally would prefer a direct ring to receiver interface and eliminate a separate receiver/PIC rail/ring combo. That's why I advised these guys to buy the UM rings. IMO If you can get rid of extra hardware it lessens the chance of things going FUBAR. 6061 is generally plenty strong enough for this purpose. 6061 probably hardcoat anodizes the best, 7075 (and others) not so much.

Just mounted UM rings to my Tikka. They're pretty overbuilt/beefy.
I prefer direct mount to pic rail...lower mount, less stuff to fail, lighter...

I’d go UM or a factory Tikka rail.

I always chuckle when someone comes on Rokslide and asks if a UM or Rokslide product is any good. This place is so loaded with fanboys, you're not likely to hear any negatives about those products.

By the way, I'm going to order a set of UM rings for my new Tkka 6.5 PRC when it gets here.😁

Well the original UM hinged rings were a total fail and had to be recalled. They got pounded into submission right here on RS but I do know what you mean ;)

As mentioned the sportsmatch rings are also an option that many of us have used successfully for years. They're basically a less beefy (but perfectly adequate) design that predated the UM ones. Airguns of arizona sells them here in the states.

I really like the Spuhr mount. Simple and solid as it gets. I took mine off to have the barrel threaded, put it back on and zero don’t change. That’s worth the money to me.

100%. UM rings all the way. I will never use a pic rail on a tikka again. The UM design is bullet proof.

Huge fan of the UM Tikka rings. Last year I ate shit while hunting, twice (6” of fresh snow) and both times fell on the side I had my rifle slung over. It definitely hit the dirt fairly hard.

Later that morning I shot a cow at 200ish yards, drilled her. After season I went to the range to verify and it was dead nuts on. Trijicon Credo HX scope (these have been drop tested on here) and properly torqued and loctited UM rings. 100% sold on the scope and the system.
