My intent wasn’t to be critical of the design. Just to say, tone is important to me no matter how animals respond to it. I agree that it looks like it will do well on a lot of my key points, and it will be a winner.

Oh I didn’t think you were. I was saying that I agree with the logical task/desire list. Instead of only going off of weight, or only length- it’s the whole thing.

That’s good. The goals for this first can are:

1). Hearing safe- sub 140dB at shooters ear
2). Shortest added oal to rifle
3). Better balance to the rifle
4). Around 10oz or less
5). More of a hollow sound if possible.

With this goal list, where do you see this new suppressor design improving on a similarly spec'd AB raptor with reflex combination? I am speculating that a raptor 4 with 5 inch reflex would hit goals 2) to 5) pretty well, is the issue that the raptor wouldn't reduce dB enough?

Once we got past all that "tone not scareing animals" talk, this suppressor sounds badass. 10ish ounces, OTB, sub 140 db and hopefully a good company, with good customer service. Take my money. Now if could only eliminate the tax stamp before these are produced.

These discussions are enjoyable. You can own multiple suppressors that have similar decibel levels but produce very different sounds. For instance, consider the Ultra 7 and the Raptor 8 Stack (No Reflex). While both are comparable in decibels, most people who have heard them prefer the AB. I don't own any suppressor companies, but when asked to assist in designing one, I want it to be as short as possible in front of the muzzle, hearing safe, and produce a hollow sound. I don't think Form and I are alone in wanting a can like this.

I don't think anyone, that has ever shot multiple different suppressors, would argue that they all sound different, even if DB is close or the same. I think, based on parameters Form set forth, this new suppressor should be badass. Appreciate you.

What we need is a guy standing downrange next to the target to evaluate the sounds haha

We have a live fire range at my gun range where the targets are raised up above a berm. I did a competition there once where you partner raised/lowered the target every shot. I was not a fan, even though I was safe behind the giant berm/wall.

Agreed, my only hesitation will be price. I imagine "sub-$1,000" means very close to $1,000. Competitive price for a Ti can, but for 1oz more and half-ish the price a steel A-10 can be had. For guys that have a Ti can already the juice might not be worth the squeeze.

I think a successor to the Harvester EVO would be popular. Steel, 10ish oz, sub-140dB, $500, designed for hunting.

True, I'm thinking about the broader hunting market and my buddies who scoff at spending four figures on a can. Including stamp, $700 is a lot easier to swallow than $1,100-$1,400.

OTB will probably be enough juice for me to justify the squeeze of a second Ti can. Would love to go 22" on a 6CM instead of 18" and maintain the same rifle OAL.

I mean, who wouldn't want an extra 4"??

I normally run a 16” with TBAC U7. But the new MRC is 18”, so I’ll appreciate the shorter profile on this.
