I have a 17 Tundra Crew Max. The rear passenger space so nice. This is my 2nd Toyota. The family got bigger so the truck space got bigger. I put a cap on it. It gets full every time we go to camp and everything stays dry. Gas mileage isn’t good but reliability is.

Im a technician at a very busy independent shop in Washington, i work on multiple tahoes, silverados, f150s everyday rarely do we see a tundra and if we do its for maintenance. For that reason i own a tundra crewmax and 3rd gen ram cummins. Imo they are the 2 most reliable pickups out there.

3rd Tundra for me 2002, 2013, and 2020). I think I changed an O2 sensor in one of them, and broke the windshield wipers in another.

I’ve also had 7 Tacoma’s starting with an ‘81... I did a water pump and a thermostat, and a head gasket under warranty.

I also had one Ford Explorer for six months. It was so unreliable I didn’t hardly go hunting that year.

I guess my opinion is obvious:)

I had a Yukon XL and went to a Tundra Crewmax this year. The only thing I miss is sleeping in the back/heated. I did spend 3 nights in the Tundra this fall, not comfortable, but I made it work. Bloody clothes and gear are better in the back of a pickup in my opinion.

My brother-in-law has a 2011 Tahoe and I have a 2011 tundra that he borrows every time his Tahoe is in the shop. He’s put about 20,000 miles on my tundra.

I’ve had several tundras over the years with the lowest maintenance and repair cost per mile of anything I’ve ever had in my service truck fleet. We typically run them about a half million miles then give them away.

I’ve reclined the seat back and slept in my truck more times than I care to think about. I’ve got an insulated fiberglass camper shell on my 2011 and with the 6 1/2 foot bed and A piece of plywood on the floor and an inflatable mattress it’s pretty comfortable

new spin on this thread, repair shop just told me that the repair cost is 95% of the NADA value of the F-150. has anyone ever had any experience with an ALMOST totalled truck? do i have any say in not wanting a 95% totaled truck repaired with a new frame and whole front end?

I have to do it sorry. 10000 miles driven in a year. 15 mpg will need 667 gallons of gas I will use the cost I saw today on the way home from work at $3.13/gallon that ='s $2086. 20 mpg same way ='s $1565 I will take my tundra all day, week and year for the extra $10 a week. I waited a long time to buy one and the only regret is that I didn't do it sooner before owning a Ram, F150, and 2500HD Chevy. Good thread by the way

How capable are the stock 4x4 Tundras off-road? Noticed the 'off-road' versions are substantially pricier. Do the stock 4x4s have any type of limited slip differential?

I’m going to hate giving up my locking diff that I had in my Tacoma and then F-150. Tundras only have the A-TRAC system

Anytime a Toyota vs xyz question comes up, It's always Toyota for me. Coming from someone who owns a Jeep, Chevy, Ram, and Toyota.

I would go with TUNDRA! Love mine! My preference is an extended cab because I like the larger bed. I put a topper on mine and sleep in the back....cozy when wind and conditions are horrible! Some complain about poor gas mileage but mine regularly gets 15 to 18 mpg....and sometimes more on the highway. A buddy at work has a Tacoma and it gets similar gas mileage. I would much rather have the room of the Tundra! Plenty of leg room behind the back seat for 2 adults with the extended cab.

Ended up getting a really good deal on this guy. 2015 55k miles 28k. I’m happy
Sounds like a reasonable price. I paid 29k for my 2016 with 33k miles but its the SR5 not the TRD. Hope you enjoy it! Love mine so far!

If you get the Tahoe, rat away some money for when the tranny goes out. That’s coming from a guy who currently owns two chevy’s.
