Tikka question

Finally getting serious about getting a Tikka. Any reason to go with the stainless over the blued if I am planning on ceracoating it anyway?

My understanding is they have to oxide blast the blueing off before coating where they can just apply it directly to stainless. Not sure if it adds to coating cost or if it's a wash after buying the stainless for more. Might be something to check into. I've never had any thing coated so it might an Internet tall tell also

That's exactly why I went with stainless. Had all metal cerakoted even the bolt. Dipped the stock.

I've cerakoted two guns, go stainless. I was less than impressed with the durability of the coating when guns were actually used hard.

Save your money on the stainless and use the extra cash to cerakote it. As far as rust in the bore goes just give it a good swabbing after use. I had my non SS cerakoted and its been holding up fine and it spends most its time in a scabbard on a horse getting beat around and treated like a back country hunting rifle...
