Pack and shooting bag combo

So I had to shoot a 20 shot group to validate a 10 shot load dev group that looked promising.

I ordered a Mulinator yesterday and thought well let's try using the game changer off the backpack vs the bipod and rear bag.

I strung the group out over 2". Actually the first ones were way left. I had loaded an extra five rounds for just in case. So I don't count those in my group.

Up and down was good but frick I never shoot like that.

Went back to the bipod for the rest of my load even work and didn't have an issue.


So what's the trick to shooting with a shooting bag off the pack? Because obviously there's a trick to it that I haven't learned yet.

First pick is today
Second is last Sunday. There's that goofy dude but the other 9 were in an acceptable cluster.

Prone or seated? Did you have anything for rear support?

My vote is parallax. I don’t think you are looking through the optic consistently left to right.

Perhaps the position is uncomfortable or abnormal and you are struggling to get the same cheekweld every time.

Something is going on to induce that left to right. Are you square behind the rifle with the rifle on your collarbone? Is your scope set high enough to not have your head cranked over? Could also be items shifting in the bag while shooting. What are you using for rear support?

Bipods cover any form errors in your mount. If you are on the bag and it isn't ridgid, any errors in your cant will be magnified. If you have a different amount of grip on the gun, you can influence the velocity too.

I'd expect you can see parallax at 100yds better than your target shows.
