The Rokslide Stock Traders Thread

**** me. That Dylan kid has a way better investment strategy then most of us. Dudes made more money in one month than we can hope for in a lifetime.

Sad but so true.

Hard work, perseverance, education (college, trade, does not matter) and even a little luck are not valued in today's world. Clicks and mental illness are.

Been watching o Riley auto parts for last month. Definitely missed out on some gains. But looks like it’s going to continue

I think it’s all hype and he’ll be thrown to the side as soon as they find the next flavor.

Marketing Mental illness.

Sad.

Boy I suck at this gambling. Should have taken the 2500 I put into stocks and gone to the casino! At least I could have had fun losing most of it. The reverse splits on a few of these companies absolutely destroyed me. Oh well, it's only money and I'll hold to see what happens long term.

I'm a happy man today....I'm pretty sure I mentioned TRTN here over a year ago....I've been raking a good dividend since building a pretty big position under $32 a couple years ago....who says you can't make money on big cap stocks? grin
I'd sure say this is a pretty good day. (y)

Yeah, I did a lot of research on that company and it was extremely undervalued. It was paying a 9% dividend when I bought it.

Now I have to find another one….any ideas? I dabble in small and microcap stuff but for this large amount of money, I want it to be in MidCap or large-cap.

I’m currently looking at Nat Gas sector for a candidate…. or possibly even just the ETF…. i’m just not sure to what degree that sector will come back.

Question for the experts on here. Thoughts on acquiring gold or silver as a safety net. It’s constantly pushed on talk radio, but I am skeptical of ads in general. I guess at the end of the day, what would be better to keep in a safe at home, cash or precious metal, or both?

I have seen silver obsession ruin a guy financially. I hate the stuff. At the end of the day it has to be converted back to the traded currency, and even if used as bullion, the value will be established against currency. In other words, the second you say “I’ll give you an ounce of silver for XYZ,” the guy will say. “That’s only worth $20.”

Use it as a hedge? Tell that to the guys who bought it when it hit 48$ an ounce. Hedge my ass. The only happy people the were the retailers soaking up the $$$$. No thanks.

Been following BUD. Even though some of the media has touted "they've lost billions". In the larger scheme of things it's hardly been a blip on the chart. How will it continue to play out?
