Killed some stuff since, and really like the MDT...Iāve been eyeing this since it dropped⦠good feedback from you so far? I think the aesthetics are great compared to other options
Follow up from thisā¦..I decided to throw a suppressor on it this year for my daughter to shoot. After getting a few baffle strikes, I sent the rifle to Thunderbeast where they confirmed the alignment was way off. They got it down to .004ā runout, but nothing like spending $300 (with round-trip shipping) to fix a $400 gun.My son (now 10 years old) has racked up 4 deer in three years with his, topped with a 3-9x40 Leupold VX-Freedom CDS. Shots have ranged from 80 to 430 yards.
I'd really like one of these, but it will take the rifle to ~9.5 lb. I kind of like it at sub 8.5 lbs. I already have several other rifles that are all around 9.5. It would be nice to have at least one that is lightKilled some stuff since, and really like the MDT...

The MDT sems to have a negative comb, how does it compare to factory under recoil?I'd really like one of these, but it will take the rifle to ~9.5 lb. I kind of like it at sub 8.5 lbs. That looks like a Triji 1-4 in Talleys? I was going the same direction. What height are those ring mounts, look about as low as you could go?I have a Ruger American that I did a "pin and weld" suppressor mount on that has accounted for a couple bears. I'll have to get a better picture later but it brings the oal length down to about K can length while still being more or less hearing safe with a longer suppressor. I'll probably SBR it once the $200 tax goes away. Very accurate.
Curious if anyone knows how it does in snow compared to the Ruger Hawkeye? Don't believe that has been tested lately. I have a late hunt that could involve snow.

Yes it's a Trijicon 1-4 in low mounts, Warne if I recall. I trimmed the stock down a bit and used a single stack 450 Bushmaster mag which works better than normal 308 mags. That looks like a Triji 1-4 in Talleys? I was going the same direction. Have you had issues with the RA? Or just a gut feeling?Yes it's a Trijicon 1-4 in low mounts, Warne if I recall. I trimmed the stock down a bit and used a single stack 450 Bushmaster mag which works better than normal 308 mags.
Overall I like it but I think I'll switch the RA to more of a hunting rifle with a 3-9 scope. I moved the 1-4 Trijicon over toy Ruger Scout rifle for guiding. I just feel like the M77 platform is a tad harder to break.
No issues just a gut feeling that the m77 Hawkeye action and trigger might be a little bit harder to break
On yours is an older post, but howw do you like the Strike Eagle on there? Been considering an LPVO for another RAR in 5.56View attachment 842932My Go Wild RA! 6.5CM, 16" barrel, topped with a Vortex Strike Eagle 1-6x.
I use it here in Alberta when the hunting pressure is heavy and all the critters are hiding in the thick stuff.
