I meant for the ARC.I reload for 5.56/223 already. I've got thousands of cleaned, primed Lake City brass and thousands of 75s and 77s to load.
You could shoot factories for a while.
But I get the 223 cheapness. Iām there myself.

I hadn't seen that. I'll immediately take the brake off, and heavier barrel wouldn't suck.Iām already in a nice little Ranch in 5.56, but dang if that new Gen 2 Ranch Patrol isnāt appealing. I particularly like the heavier barrel with no flutes, and no muzzle brake. And black cerakote on a black stock looks good. Iād likely mount an Arken LH-4.
Itās nice to have good people help with important decisions.I hadn't seen that. I'll immediately take the brake off, and heavier barrel wouldn't suck.
I have an "extra" LH4 4-16x sitting on the shelf![]()

Yeah, I saw that and consider it a bonus. It looks like the ranch but black with no fluted barrel. There is no brake on the Patrol model, just a thread protector.
My Ranch is loaned out to our associate pastor for his son to use this deer season so I may also be suffering from withdrawals of it being gone![]()
Iād love to handle one to see that also. I put the 13.25ā lop kit on mine and it does help -for me. I will patiently be waiting for someone to purchase and give a report.I am thinking that the heavier barrel contour will balance better. That is my only complaint with the Ranch is the balance point.
Scheels had the Ranch but not the Patrol.
The bolt is wasaaaay better than gen2

Yup, smoother by a large margin.Nice! What ammo are you going to try first? The bolt is way better on the Gen 2? You mean itās smoother with no zippy sound like the Gen 1?

Yup, smoother by a large margin.
I'll try AAC 77g OTM first, as I have a bunch.
Then these:

I just took the brake off. In doubt I'll ever shoot it unsuppressed.
I hit it with a heat gun first and it came off easy. I didn't want to "try" torquing without heat since I don't have an action rod.Did you have to apply heat to remove the brake?
I had not seen this particular model before and I donāt even have the Timney in my G2 22cm yet, but I guess I have to order one of these nowā¦looks nice! The brake has wrench flats. I've taken 3 of them off with a cresent wrench only. They are only on there with 30 to 40 foot pounds. Just enough you can't break it free with your bare hands.Did you have to apply heat to remove the brake?
No idea. Took the brake off to shoot suppressed. Bought some cheap thread protectors from Amazon and just use that for when the suppressors are in storage or on other guns.Cool , does removing the brake affect POI?
That would have been good to know. The heat gun only took a few minutes though, and I didn't want to mess something up.The brake has wrench flats. I've taken 3 of them off with a cresent wrench only.
