The Rokslide 95 (Ruger American 😁)

I'm now officially torn between a Ranch g2 in 5.56 or 22 ARC.

I have so much brass and so many 75g/77g bullets that 5.56 may win out

Any issues with the Jard trigger in the OEM stock?
Nice to know that there is no way for a bad outcome. 😁

Yeah, I think you're right. I'm 90% leaning towards the 5.56 right now, but will probably end up with an ARC eventually anyhow.....

Comparing a new caliber, needing dies, needing brass to the piles of 5.56 brass and 77g/75g bullets already on hand seems like a no brainer.

Factory 75’s and 88’s are cheap for the ARC.
Not 223 cheap, but cheap. 😀

No need to reload if you didn’t want to.

I reload for 5.56/223 already. I've got thousands of cleaned, primed Lake City brass and thousands of 75s and 77s to load.

I meant for the ARC.
You could shoot factories for a while.

But I get the 223 cheapness. I’m there myself.

I’m already in a nice little Ranch in 5.56, but dang if that new Gen 2 Ranch Patrol isn’t appealing. I particularly like the heavier barrel with no flutes, and no muzzle brake. And black cerakote on a black stock looks good. I’d likely mount an Arken LH-4.

I hadn't seen that. I'll immediately take the brake off, and heavier barrel wouldn't suck.

I have an "extra" LH4 4-16x sitting on the shelf 😁

There is no brake on the Patrol model, just a thread protector.
Yeah, I saw that and consider it a bonus. It looks like the ranch but black with no fluted barrel.

I'll be fine with either the ranch or patrol. Whatever is in stock at Scheels will be coming home with me.

I really like the patrol rifle but am I the only one who wished the barrel was a wee bit longer? I know I can go 223 in a standard with a 20” barrel, but I too like the black cerakote and an 18-20” barrel would be better for unsuppressed shooting. I love my ranch 5.56!

Either way, I like it! Especially no brake and no flutes!

My Ranch is loaned out to our associate pastor for his son to use this deer season so I may also be suffering from withdrawals of it being gone🤣🤣🤣

I am thinking that the heavier barrel contour will balance better. That is my only complaint with the Ranch is the balance point.

I’d love to handle one to see that also. I put the 13.25” lop kit on mine and it does help -for me. I will patiently be waiting for someone to purchase and give a report.

Nice! What ammo are you going to try first? The bolt is way better on the Gen 2? You mean it’s smoother with no zippy sound like the Gen 1?
Yup, smoother by a large margin.

I'll try AAC 77g OTM first, as I have a bunch.

Then these:

I just took the brake off. In doubt I'll ever shoot it unsuppressed.
