The Raven: Unknown Munitions Tikka Clone action coming soon?

Gucci Tikka!

~ $800 for a proven stainless Tikka action, DBM, trigger and magazine?

or

~ $1500 for an unproven Tikka clone, DBM, trigger and magazine?

Not trying to be critical and applaud UM for bringing this to market, but hopefully there are some features on the Raven that help offset a near doubling in all-in price.

Honest question here, and I have more Tikkas than anything else. If going a custom action/build route; why would I want a Tikka clone at $999 vs an Origin. The Origin is probably a little less street price.

The three major drawbacks I have with my Tikkas are 1, limited stocks.
2, limited triggers
And 3, limited prefit barrels

Yes, I understand that there are options in all three categories, but the options are much fewer than what you see for Remington 700 style actions/clones.

The Tikkas are a great factory rifle, but it feels like some of that is lost when the price is going to be the same or more than any other comparable custom build.

What am I missing about the Tikka/Tikka clone action that makes it much more desirable?

Yes, but tikka actions will still be more affordable. Are these going to be $250 better than what a factory Tikka action is if not it kind of missed the mark imo.

Two things.
1. Integrated pic rail for limitless mounting options.

2. Nitrided from the manufacturer.

Buying a screw-on pic rail is $75-ish for a good one, and you still have the weakness of it not being integral.

Getting an action nitrided will cost you $100 or more to have it done through a shop.

Also, an American manufacturer who is filling a demand and making a good product. Someone who actually listened to us.

I would happily pay another $100-200 for the integral pic rail, just for the time it would save in setting up a gun properly, let alone the number of problems it eliminates.

I’ve never felt like a tikka action needed to be nitrated. They are already the smoothest and most reliable action on the market.

Ok on the pic rail…I guess.

Nitride is even smoother, and quite a bit more corrosion/rust resistant than the stainless actions. That’s the biggest benefit.

What trigger does it come with?
I’d guess none. Unaware of many custom actions that come with triggers and bottom metals but hopefully i’m wrong there.

Hence my concern this may be pushing 2x more the Tikka on price once you round up a bottom metal, trigger and magazine for it.
