Oh no I’ve upset the masses 😂

Guys, I like the tikka-loving leupold-hating Rokslide. It adds some variety to my form reading. I’ll take all the flack you want to send my way.

Im going to go out and drop my mk5 here this weekend and if it fails, I’ll come back here and post about it.

And I love tikka btw don’t try to come at me for that.

I’m going to leave it alone here so you guys can chat about the MK4.

Calling you a liar? Jeez almighty dude calm down.

Thats exactly what you have stated whether openly or passive aggressively. I don’t care, you don’t me and I don’t know you. No problem- come show us “we’re biased”.

Never said you lied.

Actually that’s exactly what you stated. Purposeful bias “or something else going on” is lying.

Why do you keep making snarky comments, yet when directly addressed you ignore that you were either incorrect, or are purposely ignoring the truth? The ZCO, like the Zeiss LRP S3, was clearly stated that the rings are suspect. When I get rings from Ryan, it will be redropped- how much more clear do you need it to be written? Why when I posted the screenshots above showing exactly that, did you not address that you were incorrect?

Once again- come show everyone that what we are doing is BS.

But do I think your tests are the be-all end-all like a lot of people here seem to think? No.

Who thinks the initial eval, drop portion and 3,000 round use eval are the end all be all? Can you post links to the specific people that have said so?

Further, I suppose the people that are “tesingt” scopes with all of a box of ammo, to say nothing of the majority that do so without firing a live round, are a better measure?

Can you please post a link to anyone where they are using a bonded rifles, pre “testing” the rifle with known scopes, then going through zeroing, adjustment live fire, return to zero, zero retention with drops from specific heights, and 3,000 live rounds of function and zero retention validation- while letting multiple forum users that have no connection to it, shoot and use the scopes as well?

I swear, no other brand ruffles guys feathers like leupold does... We all agree, we want them to build a modern scope that functions properly. We want them to win. There's a ton to like about their optics other than one thing... They regularly fail at their primary objective.

It's not "shitting" on Leupold, it just happens to be the brand that most guys get super defensive about and it's weird. They don't work properly when actually used in the field. It's been proven time and time again by more folks than just "rokslide".

If they made an optic that functioned, with a good MIL hunting reticle, I promise I'd own more than one and sing its praises. Until then... We keep waiting.
I’m probably in the minority but I’ve been really turned off lately by leupold as a company. Some of the statements made by employees on podcasts/videos over the last couple years have really shone the arrogance they have as a company. I get a really bad “my shit doesn’t stink” vibe from them and combine that with scopes that don’t work it makes me not want to give them any money.

Hope you can film the drops to better share the data gathered with the rest of us here. I think we all know there is 0% chance that you will take Form and Ryan up on their offer for free scopes and a free shooting trip.

It would be the hunting scope for normal ranges.
On the product page it states “we took the legendary performance of its predecessors and gave it a slimmer maintube that’s been packed full of professional-grade features.”

Is there any hope that in the ‘slimming’ process of the main tube they’ve changed anything in a meaningfully positive way that would help with reliability? That’s the only real thing I see that would indicate a change in the internals

Whether it’s in your wheelhouse or not is irrelevant. You should be voicing forms findings on them that they did not pass the rokslide drop test, right? That’s the same logic going on here throughout the forum. That’s all I’m saying. It’s like a cult following lol.
You’re defending a company and product you (assuming) have no affiliation or relationship with whatsoever to strangers on the internet. You are also in a cult.

People buy Leupold because they know the name, same as Vortex. Marketing.

People also buy Leupold because their buddies say, "Hey man. Look how clear this scope is. It's so darn light too." And people like to feel good with their friends.

People make bad decisions ALL THE TIME. En mass. Lots of people buying them means zero.

The VAST majority of consumers are not critical thinkers nor are they educated buyers. That doesn't stop with rifle scopes.

“Hope”? Sure. Is it a realistic probability? No. No one would like it more than I, but people have short experience and short memory. Leupold has NEVER made a variable tactical scope that remotely matched the fixed 10x and 6x Mark 4’s/M3A Ultras reliability.
They have “stated” that scopes not adjusting correctly is ok, “just run the turrets up and down all the way before shooting”, and do not believe that impact zero retention is a thing- which interesting because the history of the fixed power M3A 10x was specifically to hold zero from heavy drops/impacts and was live fire tested.

As long as they build reliable scopes and support hunting and shooting sports, they can be the biggest divas in the industry, I can look past all of that, I don’t see them going against hunting or gun ownership, so if they make reliable scopes (particularly this line) I will happily give them my business

The problem with the arrogance in this case is that they are probably not trying hard to rectify a problem that they don’t think they have… but maybe they got lucky and the mk4 are like trijicon…
