The New Leupold Mark 4HD?

Ok I am sorry I even said anything Please forgive me I hope everyone finds a scope they are happy with and never has a problem with them Gunney Hathcock once told me Boy it ain't the arrow it is the Indian

I love the amazing smart people from Colorado.
I’m actually not from Colorado, I just live here now. Also, what does someone’s geographic location have to do with intelligence?

Why would a old man take a scope off his rifle and send it to be dropped tested ?
So we could show some success for Leupold through drop tests. I want them to be successful.

You probably think I am going to vote for Harris.
Respectfully, I neither care who you vote for nor see its relevance to scope drop tests.

it should make a fine hunting scope. no person experience with one in the field but i wouldn't hesitate to run one.

You served with Carlos Hathcock?

what is the consensus of the mk4HD….i really want to try it but after reading 15 pages yall got me sketch as hell

I just put one on a rifle and have been a fan. I had Mil and MOA versions of the PR1. The mil was a tad busy. But the MOA is a really good FFP reticle in a 4x erector. I can still see center dot zoomed out at 4.5 and it isn’t crazy thick at 18. I like the illum level reticle too and appears to work great. That said reticle didn’t appear daylight bright in a few uses thus far.

I can’t speak for zero retention yet but personally by other few leupolds if lesser cost haven’t caused an issue. Was worth a try.

I'd say give it a try. As many of the people on this thread have said, they've owned Leupold's and haven't had any issues. The majority of the Leo hate comes from one person's reviews. I own Leupolds, and will most likely own another one in the near future.

One guy, huh? These are just 4 posts from the first page of google. Welcome to Rokslide new guy.

I haven't went on and on about it on line because, quite frankly, I figured Leupolds not being well suited to dialing was just common knowledge these days; but since there's some question as to how widespread the issue is, I'll add my data points: I’ve had a couple that were used in set it and forget it capacity loose zero and 3 not dial and RTZ accurately.

At one point I had around 30 Leupolds. Still have a few straight tubes on levers and woods rigs, but after having repeated issues I've moved on and can't say that I've looked back. I was hoping to read great reviews on Leupolds at some point and then give then a try again, but it's going to take a lot of positive data points from different sources before I buy more of them. There's just too many other good scopes these days.

I appreciate you taking the time to look these up. I can tell you I've been in the outdoor industry for a very long time. The Leupold vs NF vs Zeiss vs Vortex is the same as Hoyt vs Mathews vs PSE vs Bowtech, etc.... Every manufacturer has some issues with their products. Bottom line is there are several people in this thread with the same sentiments I have.

Each manufacturer has their fanboys, it's just the way it goes. It doesn't make them wrong, and it doesn't make them right. It just is what it is.
