Looking at buying a tarp and was just wondering what size everyone was liking. Mainly gonna use it for glassing in inclement weather and also as a shelter in some cases. Would like to be able to fit 2 guys and some gear when glassing. Thanks for the help.

For 2 guys + gear inside...a minimum of a 10x10. Lots out there..I suggest one with tie outs down the center as well. It allows more configurations and can increase interior space.

If you want more space, at added weight, a 4m x 4m...would be it.

Your pick of materials within whatever your budget is.

I agree with the 10x10 size for two guys and gear. If you really want to shave ounces, 7x9 would be the smallest I'd go.

I've been really happy with my SO DST. My Borah solo tarp has been good, it's just a little small, even for one person.

The Seek Outside DST is what I have and like it. It’s very flexible to setup in various configurations.

Been using a Noah tarp 12x12 from Kelty for decades. Lived under it. Glasses under it. You name it. But there’s a million tarp options now that are much lighter. Size wise. I’ll always go with the 12x or close to it. Also lots of loops to adjust tie out points is huge!
