Hey y’all. Just looking for input on both of these tents and thoughts about tipi/freestanding tents in general. I have used trekking pole tents and tarp/bivy for a few years now and am looking for a do-it-all shelter. My use case is august/September archery with the occasional later rifle hunt (high country Blacktails at timberline and elk). I generally spike camp for deer and bivy camp for elk. The single person trekking pole shelters are fine but being confined to such a small area when it’s raining is a PITA. Also I don’t like that my trekking poles are not available for use to pack an animal out of a canyon because they are being used for my tent. Tarp/bivy is also fine but I’m much more comfortable in a shelter that has a tub/insert. I like the idea of the Rincon because it can be used with a stove to dry out gear; don’t really need the stove to warm up in my seasons. I also really like the design of the durston. Both will have a dyneema option soon and that material will likely be the route I go. Just looking for opinions and considerations between these two tents.
