Silencerco Scythe TI review

Is it the same weld failing every time? I agree - I think their numbers are likely suspect as well. My interest in this can is for smaller applications - Howa Mini 6 ARC, 300 BLK, 6 CM. But definitely disappointed to see this may not handle my 22" 300 PRC or even my 21" 6.5 PRC.

Thank you! Well now I’m getting more nervous about using this on a 20” 6.5 PRC
Same boat here. Mine will start life on 6.5 Swede, but I’ve got a tikka 6.5 PRC take off in the safe. I’m now wondering if I should sell the barrel and magnum bolt and get on the small caliber train…

Given the failures I have a 19” t3 Swede that I am skeptical to use now with it. Might be an expensive 223 can worst case I guess or on a 26” wsm. Mine should be at my door in the next 2 weeks and I picked up a laser thermometer to keep a keen eye on it.

I have to think that non-magnum cartridges with over 16" barrels would be perfect for the Scythe....

Have there been any reported (here on Rokslide) failures from use exclusively on standard bolt face rifles???

Thanks. Mine should be here shortly after Xmas, but I haven’t cut/threaded the Swede yet (I was debating the length when this thread blew up, leaning 20” now), so it’ll be a bit before I have enough rounds down the pipe. I’ll keep this thread updated too.

I bought the Scythe based on the earlier posts and wanting something light and short to hunt with…if I’m stuck with 223 or bust, then I’m definitely going to find myself in the 223 for everything thread.

Are these all pretty much coming apart at the same spot or is it a mix of different places where they're coming apart at?

Dang I was getting ready to order one of these for a Springfield redline 308 with a 16 inch barrel tomorrow. Even though the 308 isnt a magnum the 16 inch barrel has me worried.....lol I had my mind set on this because of its size.....I have not even thought about a second choice.....???

If it makes you feel any better, mine had well over 2k of 22” 6.5 creed before it let go on my 18” saum. I would imagine a 16” 308 would be fine. My brothers has probably 6-800 of 24” 6.5 PRC and no issues yet

I blew my Scythe up in September on a 20-inch 300 PRC. I'd had approximately 3,000 rounds of 6.5CM and .308 on it and it lasted 15 shots on the .300. They got it back to me within a week and still one of my favorite cans, but I won't be shooting it on any short barreled mags anytime soon. I'm excited to see how this Dead Air Nomad Ti XC does. So far, so good, and with the SiCo Ti direct thread HUB mount, it's only 1/10 ounce heavier than the Scythe
