I know this threads old and sounds like you got a good cross.
But what’s changed IMO since you posted it, is the seekins hunter chassis for tikka.
They can be had for $800 and fold and are between a HNT26 and XLR for weight. They also fold over the bolt much closer to the cross (which is nice).
That plus a “you name it” tikka with a $100 cut and thread and you are sitting about the same price as a cross ($1600 or so depending what tikka deal if the day is). Additionally, my estimate is it will be about 1-1.5 lbs lighter.
All that said, the adjustability and function of the cross is sweet. Their short barrel options from the factory are also nice.
But it’s a closer discussion now I think.
