In this same conundrum! I figure I'll keep them on through selection of the winners then delete, unless I run out of space, in which case I'll take the plunge and delete from the phone. Awwwwwfullllly weird, though, to have 5 hour-long videos of those dang stepups...

If they are uploaded to YouTube you probably safe deleting them from your phone…

My internet must not be made for uploading long videos. Started uploading the first one last night to YoutTune and this morning it’s only at 20% with 3 hours estimated remaining lol. Prly try the next one with a different connection.

Are you recording on the lowest possible resolution that your phone allows? All 5 of my videos were uploaded in 20 minutes.

Yes I believe so. 1080p which is lowest my phone has, I may be able to go to 24fps instead of 30fps not sure if that will help reduce size even more? It’s a 7GB file and Google estimated it would be like 3.5GB for 1 hour of HD 1080p video.

Only the goat hunters gained odds here, and only dropped $40. Wasn’t eligible for the sheep challenge already harvested a sheep. I didn’t know the sheep challenge was $150, if this is true EXO is definitely not losing any money. 500 participants $150 is $75,000 that’s almost a Stone hunt. I know there was over 1,000 goat participants so that’s over $40,000 and backpack goat hunts aren’t that expensive, only helicopter and yacht hunts. I see no reason why this wouldn’t be happening again especially if the $150 is true drop for sheep hunt. Mountain Tough challenge is $150 at the sheep show 500 participants, challenge over by 5pm winner is drawn money donated to the WSF.

Stone hunts start at 100k these days and go up from there.

Mtn goats are averaging over 20k, I know I just finished booking one.

See if you can record at 720. I have an iPhone 11 and recorded at 720 and 30fps for reference. If I go to 24fps, it forces a higher resolution and that is going to drive higher file size. Hope that helps.

They’re not giving away a Stone hunt, and I’m very aware of how much sheep and goat hunts cost been there done that several times. Thanks for your knowledgeable input.

See if you can record at 720. I have an iPhone 11 and recorded at 720 and 30fps for reference. If I go to 24fps, it forces a higher resolution and that is going to drive higher file size. Hope that helps.

720 is not an option on mine, I think I have a 15. When I selected 24 it goes to 4k so I think I have the lowest setting I can. Will try uploading at work tomorrow with faster internet. Got to 68% then I checked it again and it reset and was at like 2%.

My phone displays what the settings are for most and least space used - lowest is 720p HD @ 30fps =45mb per minute.

Thank you. Apparently I either missed it or something. I went into the settings to see the size per minute and found that I CAN select 720. I must have only tried changing it on the camera app and 720 wasn’t an option (but now that I changed the settings it indices the option for all 3 a 720, 1080 and 4k). Mine says 60mb for 720 and 130mb per minute for 1080. This should help my file size tremendously for my next step up recording!

Finally finished the June challenge. All I have left is the shooting for this weekend. As you can see I sweat like a pig in 72f workouts! Each video was ~10gb! Thank god I got a new phone this year that was capable.

Finished up the EXO shooting challenge this weekend. I did this with 12 other participants at the Highland Shooting Club with Ron & Beth Schultz, who run Apex Accuracy Outdoor Training. We had a great time shooting and practicing out to a thousand yards.

We completed all of the requirements and learned a lot of tips and tricks to help stabilize and hit targets at longer distances. I believe we all left with a better understanding of ballistics, wind, and our own capabilities.

I am all wrapped up now on the big three and monthly. on an epic goat hunt in my future! Best of luck to all of those who made it through as well.

Only the backpack challenge to complete for me, feel like that one's the icing on the cake. Just a few short weeks till we find out, crazy.

For those that did the experience challenge, what were some ah-ha moments or takeaways?

For me I realized how terrible I am at shooting. Especially rifles, mostly since I never practiced. The ah/ha was because I don’t like recoil or the loud bang of my muzzle braked 300 win mag, so I bought a very light recoil cartridge rifle, as light as legal in states I hunt, and a suppressor and now enjoy shooting much more. Similarly it pushed me further in participating in archery 3-d shoots.

The backpacking and 24-24 were not easy, but I did good since I practice this all and enjoy the activity. I did learn quite a bit about fitness nutrition and feet care.

I’m up here working out of town and the house we’re renting is literally three minutes down the road from here. Was just there this weekend. Hit me up if you ever want somebody to shoot with, I’m usually up there every Sunday that I don’t drive home for the weekend.

I would love to live near highland or an 1000yd range. Unfortunately I traveled ~10 hrs to get there.. have fun!
