Sierra 107 TMK Load Data

2.91

I kept everything the same only dropped charge weight.

41.5 to 40.5 lost me about 60ish fps

But at my elevation yesterday still makes it to 750 yards before dipping below 1800 fps
Thanks.

Looks like we are running the same basic load. The bullet will carry enough velocity to kill much further than I normally shoot at game.

I have a 243 Tikka and it’s not a tack driver out of the box but is starting to come around. Started with 70gr NBTs to do scope sight in then switched to 107s. With 107s I used 41.0gr of H4350 at 2.830” and it’s okay. Went to 2.900” and it tightened up a bit and vertical was consistent. Was getting ejector marks on new Starline brass so will drop to 40.5gr and see what happens. Hopefully Wednesday the wind will be consistent and under 10mph.

That puts you right where I ended up. (2.91 and 40.5 gr new starline brass)

Thats the sweet spot for my gun.

I wouldn’t shoot that without some safety glasses.
Bolt lift was a bit heavy with ambient in the high 60’s. Minor primer flattening and slight bit of extrusion around the firing pin. No swipe. I have another batch loaded at 31gr even. Just for a little more wiggle room when dealing with rain and such. You need to live a little more. This is the same load I was running for the 108 eldm. That’s only .3gr above Hornady’s published data. I generally shoot with safety glasses.
You would hate my 87gr vmax load.

Ha yea, brass can hide a lot sometimes. Creed speed in an arc is screaming danger. I’d just be careful as you get more rounds on the barrel

I appreciate the concern. And always check my
Brass for pressure signs. I will likely back down .5gr to leave some more wiggle room. I was expecting 60-80 fps slower when I shot this load over a chronograph the first time.

I do not appreciate any pressure signs on the brass.

Takeaway:
Varget loads look G2G as they are.
H4350 will go up a grain and retest.

Quick pressure test for the 6 ARC with 107 TMK and Lever today. Wanted to get an idea of a ceiling - temp was 50* but decided to shoot today since I wouldn’t have another chance for about 10 days. No pressure signs, bolt lift was normal.

Alpha brass
Fed 205
CBTO 1.770”
18” Preferred barrel

29.6 - 2628
29.9 - 2628
30.2 - 2680
30.5 - 2710
30.8 - 2754

I shot the 95 TMK for pressure with Lever as well. Brass was fine, bolt lift normal at all charges.

CBTO: 1.700”

30.2 - 2692
30.5 - 2714
30.8 - 2746
31.1 - 2803
31.4 - 2820
31.7 - 2843

You intending on pushing the 107 load any further?

Maybe. I’m under Hornady’s book max by a little, but not much (IIRC, max for 108-110 was 31.2 gr). I’d like to shoot this when it’s more like 75-80* to make sure I won’t run into any issues.

Yeah, 31.2 gr is the max Hornady load. I got heavish bolt lift and some primer extrusion with 31.5 gr in the upper 60’s.

18” 6GT Tikka. 10 round groups.
OG65 suppressor.
Still breaking barrel in. Less than 50 rounds through barrel.

Loaded at 2.550” OAL.

Anybody have load data for the 107s in a 6ARC with staball match or varget? I have a PBB 18" barrel and have been shooting 95 tmks but they seem pretty tough to tune. I am about 1.5 inch groups with varget and much worse with all other powders. I just ordered a box of 107 tmks hoping they tune better. My barrel shoots 103 eldx very well, but everything else just doesn't seem to group. I am not opposed to using the 103s but there seem to be mixed reviews in terminal performance. I will be shooting elk with this rifle and hopefully a moose in 2028. Please let me know what your experience has been.

Check post #74 of this thread assuming you are using a bolt gun.
