It's just hard for me to fathom a Creedmoor being faster than a PRC with the same length factory barrel (Tikka) regardless of powder. I'm burning 15 grains more (N565) to push the same bullet. N565 is supposed to be pretty dang good for PRC and heavies. I'm definitely interested in trying an Alliant powder. I know ultimately these speeds won't make a huge difference. But as a hobbyist, I'm always interested in best/most efficient. (Of course my ProChrono could be off, I haven't had a chance to shoot at distance yet.)
I haven't loaded any 140s for my PRC yet. I did notice the fastest factory loads, Winchester 142 ABLR and the Federal 140 Tipped Fusion, neither load is even compressed.
My reloading practices used to be much more sound! I'm probably too casual now after reading this forum. I ended up loading 10 rounds at 58 grains of N565. I'll accuracy test on the next cool morning I have free.and from what I can tell your reloading practices are sound.
