Sierra 116 TMK Load Data

Getting ready to load up some for my 6cm, new 19" barrel. Using h4350 in some alpha brass. Hodgdon load data has 115 gr bullet with starting point of 36.8, seem like a good place to start working up from?
As a point of reference, 6GT, 116tmk, I settled in between 36 and 37gr H4350. So I think you’d be perfectly safe starting a little higher up.

Thanks, might start around 38 then. Seems like people are finding pressure around 40 ish.
The pressure ladder I loaded and am shooting tomorrow with the same components is 38, 39, 39.5, 40, 40.5, 41.

Most the similar load data I found showed a max load of roughly 40.5. I don't think 37 is a bad starting point either but wouldn't start any lower.

Im getting 2700fps with 116tmk. 39.5 H4350, lapua brass, cci 450srp. 18" McGowan 6CM tikka pretfit. Not sure of length, just barely fits in a Tikka factory M magazine

Just realized I haven't logged in on Rokslide since February. Hope everyone had a great spring and you got in tons of shooting and practice.

Loaded up 100 of the 116 TMKs for the first time and shot some of them through one of my Tikka 6 Creeds this morning.

We didn't even try to develop a "load", heck, the rifle that shot them today was in a different state than where they were loaded. No fuss, no nonsense, hunting safe load.

2 shots to sight in and then a 3 shot group to confirm zero at 100 yards (slight adjustment from 115 Bergers as last zero). Next was 20 back to back shots, only breaks in shooting were due to suppressor and barrel mirage. Prone with spartan bipod on a shitty old Walmart mat, light fill rear bag.

Rifle: Rechambered Tikka 6 Creed (0.183" FB SAAMI Spec). PBB 16" 1:7.5" Barrel. Rokstok. Maven RS1.2. UM Tikka Low Rings. US Reaper Suppressor. M+ Factory Mags.

20 Shot, 100 Yard Zero and Velocity from 16" Barrel:
First 5 were 2 sight in shots and then a 3 shot group to confirm zero. Next 20 are the group... My bad on the "flyer" everyone.

After this I packed up to a knob and shot some long range shots. I used the factory stated G1 BC from Sierra and used my Revic Binos for ranging and environmental. Quick Kestrel read for wind, but it switched direction close to 25% mark of the shot, with swirls at the gong itself down in the wash bottom.

3 for 3 at 775 Yards on a 12" gong. Prone off backpack, bino harness rear rest. This is roughly 1,800 FPS impact velocity at my current DA. I will be experimenting with much lower impact velocities this Fall after some gel and coyote confirmation this Summer.

I then moved up and back further than I thought to get a window at the same 12" gong, ended up at 1,127 Yards. First shot miss. 2nd shot corrected for wind and looked like an edge hit on left side. Next 5 shots were all hits on the gong.

116 TMKs seem like every other TMK I've used so far, easy button to get to shoot and I'm expecting them to kill like the nasty bastards that they are.

Sorry for not answering PMs, Post Quotes, @ mentions and all that, likely won't be doing so, but may be checking in from time to time and to share some things here and there. Life's good!

Take care ya'll!

Doing basic load test and fireforming on 116s and 6mmPRC (NSI) 20" Preferred barrel on Tikka with OG6-S. .180" freebore loaded at 2.98" CCI BR2 primers, Lapua brass, .271 neck bushing, 241 mandrel (yes I'm probably moving more brass than necessary and will adjust things later because these seem to be too snug). Also I hate how Hornady dies smash these bullets so I'll probably get Frankford die set. Weights measured by A&D 120i.
Temp upper 70s and sunny with strong variable winds

RL26
54gr 3088fps
54.5 3088fps
55 3144fps (stiff bolt ejector)
55.5 3170fps (stiff bolt, ejector)
56 3213fps (very stiff bolt and heavy ejector)

H1000
52.5 2830fps
53 2945fps
53.5 2933fps
54 2967fps
54.5 3005fps
55 3013fps
55.5 3061fps
56 3057fps (faint ejector, primer flow)
56.5 3125fps (bolt, ejector, primer flow)
57 3140fps (heavy bolt, ejector, crater)
57.5 3149fps (heavy bolt, major ejector)

These are based off 1 shot so this is tread lightly. Looks like mid 50s is giving me a sign to follow.

Is this barrel from the LS Wild pre-order? What length are you shooting?

I should have added that my velocity should be on the low end. These were rounds 11-20 on a brand new barrel and virgin brass.
