SBR Cartridge Recommendation

And Barnes has new 6mm ARC loads, including one with a 6mm ARC specific bullet.

Does anyone have a picture of a bushed bolt face? I'm actually wondering why someone doesn't make these bushings and sell them. Seems like it would be a fairly simple vise/press in. It just has to hold the case rim centered and it should have a notch for the extractor, no?

6ARC, in the process of working up loads with the 70HH in my 20" Howa Mini, 3200fps should be where it ends up.

If you want to swap the whole bolt body out for a .445 bolt face you can purchase one from PR Precision. There quite a few folks on here that have purchased bolt bodies or bottom metal and I haven’t seen any negative feedback. I purchased a left handed 223 bolt body and it was a smooth transaction but didn’t end up using as I got in on the first UM left handed order at the same time. Note, prices are in CAD.

I’ve been wanting to do a 12.5” 22ARC bolt gun. Based on what I’ve seen with my other short barrel arc setups. You should be able to run an 80gr eldm at 2775-2825fps with a stout load of cfe223 or lever.
Factory black 75eldm should run 2600-2650fps, factory 80eldx at 2550-2600, factory’s 88s at 2450-2500, factory’s 62s at 2800-2850

And it’s been a few years but pretty sure there’s a guy on SH that runs a 12” 6cm with 105vlds at 2600fps with handloads

Has anyone gone 12.5" with a 6 creedmoor?

Are you going to be running factory ammo or handloading? In a 12”, 6GT would get the same velocity as the 6cm and with factory’s 109s on top of that.
What will be your primary use and yardage for this set up? In your first post you mentioned .30cal as a possibility. 30hrt with a 125tmk at 2800 in a 12” would be sweet. Soft recoiling, quite suppressed running 28gr powder , and lethal. 30BR would be another good sbr also and it’s standard .473 bolt face. Alpha is working on 30BR brass now, but currently Peterson 7br brass necked seems to work fine.

I am looking at also building a Tikka SBR. I have a MDT LSS Gent 2 chassis that I will use. It looks like MDT now has ARC clips, so I would assume for the tikka all I need is the bolt modified and the barrel swapped? I would love to have a 10" truck gun. Any feedback on the MDT clips?

I'll be handloading. I already have a 6cm and all I need to load for that. Plus I have a barrel I could cut down.

I like the idea of creed over arc because I know it will cycle reliably. But I like the idea of arc over creed for efficiency, noise, and barrel life. GT makes the most sense but then I'm adding a new barrel and dies, and its not that much different from 6 creed. 6 arc I already have reloading equipment for but I'd have to get a bolt face opened up and a new barrel.

I also have a 22 creed barrel I could chop down and run 77s out of.

I only mentioned 30 cal to state it as a bore limit by my cans, so no one suggested 338 arc or 8.6 black.

I started another thread about short creedmoor barrels.

What are MDT clips?
