Retirement

Retired last year and trying to get out West.
Having a hard time accepting the Realtor fees to
sell my home.
And other issues as well, such as my son still has 2+yrs of college left and my wife
loves the beach, we need to get rid of a lot of crap too - just too much to move.
Counting my blessings though as I can make multiple trips / year.

It was so simple selling our last two houses FSBO with a title company, there is no way I'm going to give a realtor 5-7% ($33-47k) for a weekend worth of work selling in this market. If it was a buyers market it would be a different story but home are selling fast and for a premium in my area...With many refinacing at 2-3% rates, there's not much inventory out there for the number of buyers.

Agree...that was our experience with our last 2 houses (as the seller).

I agree, when we sold our previous home 2 years ago the agent tried to get us to drop our price by 30k. I told her if we get no interest for 3 months I will entertain lowering. Our house sold in 3 days!
Sometimes I wonder what we are paying for....
