Just a thought, I know there's some people on Rokslide that are pretty good at putting together videos.(I've kind of enjoyed going through everyone's other videos they have up on youtube after watching their pushup submissions) If someone put together a video with some clips from everyone's submissions set to some motivational/pump you up music, it'd make a pretty sweet video. Maybe some pauses in the music with some of the dialog from some, i.e. the person filming saying to keep going or my favorite "F&*k, oops sorry" from one of the ladies' submissions.

Not going to lie, the video of the 4 guys doing the second Rokslide challenge where they hiked/ran that loop in CO was a big motivator for me to get out on the trails and not just hike, but push it as hard as I could. It honestly helped me find another gear. A push-up challenge vid would be pretty sweet.

Congrats to everyone that did the pushup challenge. You guys are animals.

After some research I stopped doing anything behind my head while working out. I never hurt myself but after reading and seeing that there is always a safer alternative workout I just stopped doing it.

I know, right!?!

We wanted several different judges to add these up, so it took a little longer then we thought.

We'll have the winners posted in the next couple days.

So I am one of the judges for this competition and there are some things I am seeing that will not count....SO....I want everyone to make sure they are aware of how these push ups are being judged when the winners are announced. This is straight from the Army FM 7-22

“THE PUSH-UP EVENT MEASURES THE ENDURANCE OF THE CHEST, SHOULDER, AND TRICEPS MUSCLES. ON THE COMMAND, ‘GET SET’, ASSUME THE FRONT-LEANING REST POSITION BY PLACING YOUR HANDS WHERE THEY ARE COMFORTABLE FOR YOU. YOUR FEET MAY BE TOGETHER OR UP TO 12 INCHES APART (MEASURED BETWEEN THE FEET). WHEN VIEWED FROM THE SIDE, YOUR BODY SHOULD FORM A GENERALLY STRAIGHT LINE FROM YOUR SHOULDERS TO YOUR ANKLES. ON THE COMMAND ‘GO’, BEGIN THE PUSH-UP BY BENDING YOUR ELBOWS AND LOWERING YOUR ENTIRE BODY AS A SINGLE UNIT UNTIL YOUR UPPER ARMS ARE AT LEAST PARALLEL TO THE GROUND. THEN, RETURN TO THE STARTING POSITION BY RAISING YOUR ENTIRE BODY UNTIL YOUR ARMS ARE FULLY EXTENDED. YOUR BODY MUST REMAIN RIGID IN A GENERALLY STRAIGHT LINE AND MOVE AS A UNIT WHILE PERFORMING EACH REPETITION. AT THE END OF EACH REPETITION, THE SCORER WILL STATE THE NUMBER OF REPETITIONS YOU HAVE COMPLETED CORRECTLY. IF YOU FAIL TO KEEP YOUR BODY GENERALLY STRAIGHT, TO LOWER YOUR WHOLE BODY UNTIL YOUR UPPER ARMS ARE AT LEAST PARALLEL TO THE GROUND, OR TO EXTEND YOUR ARMS COMPLETELY, THAT REPETITION WILL NOT COUNT, AND THE SCORER WILL REPEAT THE NUMBER OF THE LAST CORRECTLY PERFORMED REPETITION.”
“IF YOU FAIL TO PERFORM THE FIRST 10 PUSH-UPS CORRECTLY, THE SCORER WILL TELL YOU TO GO TO YOUR KNEES AND WILL EXPLAIN YOUR DEFICIENCIES. YOU WILL THEN BE SENT TO THE END OF THE LINE TO BE RETESTED. AFTER THE FIRST 10 PUSH-UPS HAVE BEEN PERFORMED AND COUNTED, NO RESTARTS ARE ALLOWED. THE TEST WILL CONTINUE, AND ANY INCORRECTLY PERFORMED PUSH-UPS WILL NOT BE COUNTED. AN ALTERED, FRONT-LEANING REST POSITION IS THE ONLY AUTHORIZED REST POSITION. THAT IS, YOU MAY SAG IN THE MIDDLE OR FLEX YOUR BACK. WHEN FLEXING YOUR BACK, YOU MAY BEND YOUR KNEES, BUT NOT TO SUCH AN EXTENT THAT YOU ARE SUPPORTING MOST OF YOUR BODY WEIGHT WITH YOUR LEGS. IF THIS OCCURS, YOUR PERFORMANCE WILL BE TERMINATED. YOU MUST RETURN TO, AND PAUSE IN, THE CORRECT STARTING POSITION BEFORE CONTINUING. IF YOU REST ON THE GROUND OR RAISE EITHER HAND OR FOOT FROM THE GROUND, YOUR PERFORMANCE WILL BE TERMINATED. YOU MAY REPOSITION YOUR HANDS AND/OR FEET DURING THE EVENT AS LONG AS THEY REMAIN IN CONTACT WITH THE GROUND AT ALL TIMES. CORRECT PERFORMANCE IS IMPORTANT. YOU WILL HAVE TWO MINUTES IN WHICH TO DO AS MANY PUSH-UPS AS YOU CAN. WATCH THIS DEMONSTRATION.”

This was a fun challenge and a great motivator. I just can't understand why the rules were posted after the contest closed. The initial post was vague and numerous people asked for clarification but none was given. As soon as the contest closed then the "official rules" were stated. I feel like it was some kind of social experiment to see how guys would interpret/push the rules to better their score.

Like I said though fun challenge and I am thankful to Aron and the judges for putting this on.

It must be pre-draw result blues because this is the second giveaway contest that people are complaining about. The rules were specific from the start. I was never in the military, but I just did the pushups the best way I could. Win or lose it was good motivation.

Yeah I don't get it either. I mean it was pretty clear to me that military standards applied. A link to military standards may have been beneficial but not needed as everyone can google it... It's a giveaway! I didn't have any intention of winning after I saw most the videos start coming in but I still put one up just the same and happy to have participated and made improvements in my fitness. That's what it's about for me! :)

Can't quite let this one go, so I will tell you what kind of "social experiment" will be next. No more giveaways if people feel like complaining is better than trying to win.

I'll make this as clear as I can.....

We have 5 judges grading this and each judge has a different background (3 military and 2 non).

All entries had the same info from the beginning, so EVERYONE had an equal chance at winning.

So to me, all you needed to do was "your best" and the judges would take it from there.
