I’ll be spending a few days in Alaska in early September and plan to hit the water, mainly for silvers and trout, and maybe grayling. I’m definitely bringing my 8 wt but was wondering if it’s worth bringing a 5 or 6 weight too or better to leave them at home and fish for everything with the 8

If grayling are a "maybe", then you're good to go with your 8wt (I've primarily used a 7...except for Chinook LOL!).

However, Arctic Grayling are unique and beautiful fish...and they are a blast on a 4wt!!
