I was making light of it, but that is a tuff shot to make. If he comes up empty here it will be hard.. real hard to take ! I sure hope be gets this deer :)

You guys must not be praying hard enough.....

Good luck Robby! Ive missed two shots this year as well. 2nd one hurt like heck. Would've been my best deer rifle or bow. Keep yer chin up.

Back to the truck. Thanks for all the encouragement and prayers, especially you Jodi. It does make a difference.

What happened: I wasn't exactly sure where he bedded (and even if it was the other good buck) so I sneaked along the rim for almost two hours glassing everything I could see below me. I'd moved about 200 yards in that time. I took a step and cleared a 4 foot juniper and could see him stand up and drop his head. I ranged him at 87 yards and stepped back behind the juniper but he heard me. I peered around the tree and could tell he was going to go. I got a quick shot off and then he was gone. That was about 11. Tracked him until 2pm.

It was a tough shot to make but still a heart breaker for me. It takes years to create these opportunities and to lose two in two days is gut wrenching and painful.

He was a good buck. Probably about 180+ gross and all of 28" Seeing him that close was excellent and I'm thankful to God for these last two days, although I am bitter.

This was yesterday's miss, uncut and all me (just ask my wife).

Today's emotion was no better.
