My Colorado sheep hunt thread

check out Archery Ram success rates in Colorado. Last I did when I had a tag it was about 25%

I decided to not pass a legal ram since I really didn’t want to eat my tag 😬

I did actually miss a shot on a just legal ram, shot high. Felt horrible and wondered if I had blown my chance.

Luckily killed a couple days later on a better ram. But I know with archery nothing is guaranteed. Sheep hunting can be a grind and mental challenge. Stick with it and give all you have.

Good luck with the hunt

Oh and to your idea to avoid Drainage X in scouting I think that’s a lame idea! Do everything to stack the odds in your favor and go where you have the most opportunities and chance of success!

At least check it out to make sure it is what you think it is and are sort of holding out for. And really no one else is going to care where you killed your ram and if it’s in some new spot or not!

(Unless you want to give away free workout tips and just want to say you killed on the toughest sheep hunting where no one else killed a ram)

Heck go hunt the unlimiteds if you want to hunt sheep where they aren’t 😂

Good Luck - I can't think of anything much better than chasing Rams above treeline on Aug 1st...Hope you get a good one!

I'll never forget seeing my first bighorn in RMNP prob 35 years ago...just a fascinating animal.

Keep us updated!
