Revic BLR10b Rangefinding Binoculars

Good stuff.

I am using/used the swaro 8x32ta this year. I’m too much of a glass snob I guess..plus I end up doing quite a bit of still hunting/off hand glassing where 8x is preferred. I may have gotten a good sample but have no issues getting solid ranges..farthest I’ve tried was 1400ish. At shooting distances I’ve never had a hiccup..but also have not used them in sub freezing or snowy/foggy conditions yet.

The glass is good enough that I used them alone on several hunts. Not quite NL pure but it is alpha level to my eyes.

In big country they were paired with my swaro stc big eyes.

They are the right compromise for me at this point, unless they stop working for some reason. Maybe the glass thing is overblown, but as a mule deer/blacktail guy I just can’t get past having the best glass possible.

My pair of revics appears to be as good as my maven b2 9x45s. I don't get a fully clear picture to the edges, but it's great in the middle. I'll make sure not to get a pair of NLs so I stay happy with what I have

Anyone else find the focus wheel to be unusually stiff on their Revic's? I was hoping mine would break in a little with use, but it's still stiffer than a dead cat.

For some reason mine is always stiff when I first rotate it out of storage, but loosens up quickly.

My pair of revics appears to be as good as my maven b2 9x45s. I don't get a fully clear picture to the edges, but it's great in the middle. I'll make sure not to get a pair of NLs so I stay happy with what I have

This is good info. I traded out my b2 9x45 for vortex fury. The fury is noticeably different but not horrible. If the revic is b2 good, I'd be happy with that.

I’ve had two sets of the Revic BLR10b and agree the glass isn’t as nice as my Swaros but for ease of use and seeing/ranging/solution/dialing/shoot/hit they’re awesome. I can’t see going to anything else unless the Geovid Pro AB+ provide equal ranging with an actual better view.

To clarify, the center of the FOV is fine. Looks like decent glass. When you’re just over halfway to the edge of the FOV they start to distort and fishbowl the image. And at the edge of FOV you cannot even make out what’s going on over there. Good glass is crisp edge to edge and you can look throughout the entire FOV while the binos are stationary on a tripod.

I am not carrying a separate pair of 2lb binos around for fun and added exercise lol.

I also think it’s hunting style dependent of how you would view the optic experience. To me, it’s not pleasant. On a tripod (with both pairs that I’ve had) you can easily see how distorted they really are as you look around the locked in image at moderate distances.

Active, opportunistic, hand holding style hunters (aka the majority of hunters) would probably not even notice or think twice about the issues that bother me.

I’ll keep carrying 2 binos for sure.

Have you looked through the Maven 18x Binos with the Mil reticle? I’m not a glass snob and the ability to spot corrections seems useful.

Yeah I think that’s understandable for sure. I personally look through the whole image when I grid. I handhold about 1% of the time. And if companies have successfully created optics that are clear edge to edge, anything else is an unnecessary sacrifice and shows a lack of quality IMO.
