Revic BLR10b Rangefinding Binoculars

Good stuff.

I am using/used the swaro 8x32ta this year. I’m too much of a glass snob I guess..plus I end up doing quite a bit of still hunting/off hand glassing where 8x is preferred. I may have gotten a good sample but have no issues getting solid ranges..farthest I’ve tried was 1400ish. At shooting distances I’ve never had a hiccup..but also have not used them in sub freezing or snowy/foggy conditions yet.

The glass is good enough that I used them alone on several hunts. Not quite NL pure but it is alpha level to my eyes.

In big country they were paired with my swaro stc big eyes.

They are the right compromise for me at this point, unless they stop working for some reason. Maybe the glass thing is overblown, but as a mule deer/blacktail guy I just can’t get past having the best glass possible.

My pair of revics appears to be as good as my maven b2 9x45s. I don't get a fully clear picture to the edges, but it's great in the middle. I'll make sure not to get a pair of NLs so I stay happy with what I have

Anyone else find the focus wheel to be unusually stiff on their Revic's? I was hoping mine would break in a little with use, but it's still stiffer than a dead cat.

This is good info. I traded out my b2 9x45 for vortex fury. The fury is noticeably different but not horrible. If the revic is b2 good, I'd be happy with that.

I’ve had two sets of the Revic BLR10b and agree the glass isn’t as nice as my Swaros but for ease of use and seeing/ranging/solution/dialing/shoot/hit they’re awesome. I can’t see going to anything else unless the Geovid Pro AB+ provide equal ranging with an actual better view.

Had to send my set back for repair, eye cups were loose. Customer service was outstanding. Door to door between hunts was like 7days.

Both is the way.

Revic in the harness for “shotgun glassing” and hand held work, plus a killing tool with built in RF and on board real time ballistics.

14 NL Pures in my Sherman pocket ready to deploy on a tripod for sitting and glassing or quick animal judgement.

To clarify, the center of the FOV is fine. Looks like decent glass. When you’re just over halfway to the edge of the FOV they start to distort and fishbowl the image. And at the edge of FOV you cannot even make out what’s going on over there. Good glass is crisp edge to edge and you can look throughout the entire FOV while the binos are stationary on a tripod.

I am not carrying a separate pair of 2lb binos around for fun and added exercise lol.

I also think it’s hunting style dependent of how you would view the optic experience. To me, it’s not pleasant. On a tripod (with both pairs that I’ve had) you can easily see how distorted they really are as you look around the locked in image at moderate distances.

Active, opportunistic, hand holding style hunters (aka the majority of hunters) would probably not even notice or think twice about the issues that bother me.

I’ll keep carrying 2 binos for sure.

I've never understood the desire for edge to edge clarity. I don't ever try to use the full field of view in a way that would require perfect clarity edge to edge. I look at the center, maybe slightly around it, and rest of the field is only for detecting movement with my peripheral. Look quickly, then move on and look in another spot.

In my opinion, the primary items that make an optic most useful are resolution near center and color rendition/differentiation.

I do mostly hand hold and support with knees, but even when using a tripod I'm moving my glass constantly.

Yeah I think that’s understandable for sure. I personally look through the whole image when I grid. I handhold about 1% of the time. And if companies have successfully created optics that are clear edge to edge, anything else is an unnecessary sacrifice and shows a lack of quality IMO.

None of the ones I have seen fishbowl. The ones I have looking through right now don’t have distortion into the outer 10% of the FOV, and more like 5%. I don’t remember any of the others having it either.

No 10x binoculars are acceptable for me for glassing- none of them regardless of how awesome the glass is, does what 14x or 15x Alphas do.

Lack of quality or realistic tradeoffs? There is no RF bino that you can buy that has the glass of NL Pure’s with the capability of the Revics.


I don’t intend this to be rude at all, however unless you got two bad samples of Revic’s- I believe you are falling into the group with others that are picky for picky sake, and it has little to do with function. Lots of people are like that about certain things, but it tends to become an outsized issue when others listen/read what they are saying.

The BLR10b’s have better image quality than Sig Kilo’s, Vortex Fury’s, Nikon Laser guide, and the others of the ilk. They do not have the image pop of Leica Geovid Pro’s, Swarovski EL range, or Zeiss RF.
