Revic BLR10b Rangefinding Binoculars

The Leica Geovid R is an excellent Rangefinder Binocular and at the price it is difficult to beat, however, the GPO Rangeguides are comparable and less money, certainly worth a look
Has there been any review of the Rangefinder operation in the GPO? While we know it is not as robust as the Revic, how does it compare to the R's for "in the field" use? @Formidilosus ?

I’ve ran the 10x40 right next to Revic. There is a difference in the right barrel of the GPO, it takes a sec to notice but it’s a touch darker.

Glass optically is very similar, as far as pure ranging GPO pretty impressively quick and hits far. If you didn’t need ballistics, the Revic isn’t $1000 better, but at 300-400. Its gets a lot closer. Size wise the 10x40 is a lot lighter and smaller, it’s basically perfect for bow hunting or where ounces matter.

My only complaints on GPO is display is slanted if you don’t have a wide face. But weight/size wise GPO is hard to beat if that’s what you are shooting for.

Lecia R has a touch better glass than both. Speed a touch slower than GPO, range GPO touch further. If you don’t mind weight, 10x50 GPO is a better comparison to the Leica R. 10x40 is just a touch lower due to that coating in right barrel, it’s not blue like sig is just a hint darker

Still the case today?
I got fedup with the Swarovski issues I have described earlier. Replaced my Swarovski EL Range and Zeiss spotter with the below combo. Will fit Aziak binoclamp when they arrive.

Having used the Leica since the first Geovids arrived, I'm pretty sure I don't give up any "hunting". Also dropped 1 kg/2 lbs off my bino/spotter combo and I guess/hope I'm not giving away too much with fast 15x binos vs slow 20-30x spotter (field of view)

Revic wasn't on my shortlist simply because the $ to NOK currency exchange rate is horrible now.

The 15x Geovids are silly good. Will be interested to hear what you think after some use.

I called earlier this week and talked to one of the sales guys about needing a pair by August for Alaska. He told me they would be back in stock and available by then. Asked about upgrades and new versions as well and he didn’t have any info on that.

Same for me. Steady enough in 15+ MPH winds with a lightweight carbon tripod even at standing height. Using an outdoorsmans stud, standard adapter, and their micro pan head gen 2.

sarcastically and semi-seriously - do you have the orange adapter? seems like something small and expensive (for what it is) that i wouldn't want to lose.
