I did not do that. I pulled the battery, put it back in, and then went into the ranging mode and just made sure it was on “near”. After doing this, it would still give the right range and wrong corrections.

Hmmm.

Maybe try hitting it. grin

My BLR's do a weird thing now where they range the target, but give me a different calculation for different object along the way.

This is only when objects are near the ranging path.

For example. Target at 700 yards. Range target, readout says 700 yards. Correction given is like 5 MOA. I know that's not right. There's a tractor disc like 3-400 yards away, in the path and its picking it up for the correction, but giving me the 700 yard readout.

It will give me corrections for targets in front of and behind my target, all while consistently just giving me the same, correct, target distance. Different corrections every time, but the same target distance every time.

If I range a bold face, or a tree, it never does it. Only when there are near objects along the ranging path. Not sure how I feel about it right now lol.
Mine does this occasionally as well. It's one of my only complaints with this unit. I have gotten into the habit of ranging everything a couple times, which isn't a big deal with how fast it gives a solution. Like you said, it'll give the correct range with a solution that's for something close. It doesn't do it if I'm ranging a very solid surface and it usually won't repeat itself, which is why I just hit everything a few times.

What I suspect is that the range it "solves" must be slightly before or after the range it displays. So if you're not steady and there's other objects close it can grab them.

Seems like this could be solved with a system update, but I'm not an engineer or tech.

I believe that is 100% what the issue is as well. It’s always freehand when I’m dancing around a little with the aim point. Still not ideal.

But also only an issue under rarer circumstances

Did you recently true your BC or MV? Mine did what you are describing and had the correct adjustment on the app. I had to delete the profile and enter it again.
