Was very close to ordering Fierce Rogue in 7mm PRC until i read this 13 page thread https://rokslide.com/forums/threads/fierce-firearms-disaster.293232/

Springfield Armory isn't going to add the 7mm PRC to their line up.

Just sold my Savage UL in 6.5 PRC. It was a tack driver but I don't want to get another one due to the disappointing stock.

Considering a Christensen Arms Ridgeline FFT in 7mm PRC

What other options would you recommend i look at in the $2500 price point?

Thanks in advance

I guess i should state if it isn't already obvious that I'm looking for a rifle with a carbon bbl and carbon fiber stock to cut weight.

i bought a tikka t3x action. have a carbon six 7prc barrel, and mesa altitude stock on order.

i have two other similar builds in 6.5 creed and also 6.5 prc, with proof barrels. good stuff.

Zermatt arms origin action, your choice of barrel, stock and tigger and optic. I think a Pederson precision barrel prefit, or bartlein carbon, trigger tech special, one of them trijicon scopes on sale.

I helped a buddy break in his fft in 7prc a couple weeks ago and it shot great. Very nice rifle. He was worried about quality control after reading some of the negative reviews but his rifle turned out nice. I have a Mesa fft in 6.5 prc and really like mine too, I did have the brake on my gun show up with a small nick but it doesn’t affect anything other than appearance so I don’t think about it anymore.

I just got a Fierce carbon rival and it's shoots as good as any custom gun out there just like any rifle manufacturer there are always gonna be good and bad ones

Springfield told the guy from the Backfire Youtube channel at SHOT that they can't keep up with current demand and not going to make the 7mm PRC at this time.

I realize that but if you just skim through the post i originally linked there seems to be a pattern of behavior that i cannot support

Seekins element 7mm prc. Not a carbon barrel but shoots lights out. First 100 yard zero. Customer service is top notch as well unlike fierce.

I would say for that price, Tikka or Remington action Proof Research Barrel and an MDT Hntr 26 stock. Ultra modular stock that weighs 26 oz. Get the one that folds so you can pack it around with a Silencer on it and still be shorter length.

I do own two Christensen Arms Rifles both shoot well under 1 MOA with Factory ammo. They like the ELDX. I love the rifles but the 6.5 PRC will be getting the MDT HNTR 26 stock.

I have been "researching" this topic for well over a year now. I have decided many things and changed my mind.

I keep coming back to buying a Tikka off the shelf and customizing that.

Every other company weather it be, Begara, Christensen, Fierce, Howa, ect, all seem to be producing some amount of lemons.

Tikka is the only rifle brand that I have never heard of having a lemon. Not saying it doesn't happen, but for my money, unless your ordering something from Gunwerks, I'd buy a Tikka.

I own an FFT in 280AI. Laser beam and easy to shoot. Action is not the smoothest I’ve felt but it feeds every time. Don’t expect custom feel in that regard but also don’t take that as it’s bad.

The folder idea expressed above is honestly the way I’ll eventually take it but for now it’s serving it’s purpose

Another vote for the Seekins element. I’ve gone through 3-4 rifles in that price range (2 ridgelines and a proof) and finally happy with the element.

Tikka action, send it to Preferred Barrels for your choice of barrels and when you get it back put it in a Stockys stock. You’ll be in it for about $1800
Even cheaper if you buy it used and part it out. My most recent stainless action cost me $450 net.

I'm going to be dropping my Tikka into an AllTerra stock, RS bottom metal, and rebarreling it with a steel.. Something in 7PRC. Probably a 3b or 4 fluted Bart. Just need to find someone to trade me bolts.

That's the direction I'm choosing to go. I considered Fierce as well but I've also read bad CS stories and have a buddy who's had issues with them as well. I wouldn't go Christensen at least for a while because I've had Issues with my Mesa and I'm still bitter about it.

I'd get a browning xbolt pro before a ridgeline. Havak element is an intriguing rifle in that light weight class too.
