Seems more akin to putting a fence around a public pool and using it for you and your friends, knowing damn well you didn't pay for it and that it belongs to everyone, then getting pissed when you found the public there

If either of you, or anyone for that matter, say they’d be anything but bummed, miffed, pissed or mad.. if the same thing happened to you after countless decades of what seems like one of the most badass honey holes all to yourself or paying clients, I wouldn’t believe you.

It’s a damn shame, but it looks like they’ve got a solid defense against the hunter harassment charge based on Wyoming’s definition of “process”.

(a) No person shall with the intent to prevent or hinder the lawful taking of any wildlife: (i) Interfere with the lawful taking of or the process of lawfully taking any wildlife;

(h) As used in subsection (a) of this section, “process of lawfully taking” means travel, camping and other acts preparatory to taking wildlife if occurring on lands or water upon which the affected person may legally take the wildlife.

Does failure to pack out the antlers violate anything in WY? WY doesn’t require proof of sex attached, that could have been their proof of sex. Stealing it interferes with them legally complying with the hunt regulations, does it not? Hence it interferes with them LAWFULLY taking the animal (which has requirements on what needs to be removed to be lawful).

That’d be my thought.

My argument has nothing to do with hiding the head. That was moronic and petty, and probably done impulsively. I've been a dick to people impulsively and regretted it, I'm sure we all have. Stealing someone's access to a resource that belongs to them (the land, in this case) like this takes significant planning and investment.

I don’t fault the hunters, nor do I give a crap about their planning or investment.

Clearly money wasn’t an issue, so the planning aspect is moot considering how much planning it takes to do true backcountry diy elk hunts…with a bow, solo, and be successful multiple times.

Couple a rich dudes parachuting into a landlocked honey hole, whacking a few clueless bulls with suppressed rifles and then plastering the whole thing on their favorite socials may tickle your taint, but clearly we’re cut from a different cloth.
