QAD full vs swept

Can someone help me understand the difference in these two heads? I can't find anything concrete other than mixed opinions on why these heads are different or if it's just which one looks cooler but I can't imagine a company would make a different head just because they wanted to with no difference.

I think of it as Solid heads versus Vented heads. Solid being the full blade, Vented being the swept blade.

Solid heads are a little more tricky to tune whereas vented heads are a little more forgiving.

I shoot both. Full blade version is legal in all states. Swept are considered “barbed” in some states which is why they have both versions I presume. Full blade will damage your targets less when broadhead tuning. The swept gets the nod for better tuning/flight, especially in crosswinds. I’ve killed 2 bucks with the full blade and watched my good friend shoot an elk frontal with the swept. None of them went very far (about 100yds total between all 3) with great blood trails. All broadheads came out unscathed and still sharp. Shooting mostly swept this year between my two bows.

I THINK the full will be more quiet in flight. That's not based on experience comparing the two but that in general solid blades are more quiet than vented

The Full Blade was very finicky for me to tune. I had to end up using a 3 degree helical with Max Hunter's. Even then I felt like it was only consistent out to 40.

My full blade 125’s w/helical Blazers flew great and did a full pass through out of a 60lb bow on a Coues at 94yds last Friday.
No wind (or I wouldn’t have attempted shot), and he never heard it coming.

Been using the Exodus since it first came out and it’s still my favorite head. They fly true, have a good cut and penetrate. Swept is my go-to as it always flys much better for me. The only times I’ve used the full is when hunting where the swept aren’t legal.

I've shot both, the only reason I used the full instead of swept was due to state regulations. Some states don't allow the swept blade design.

Thanks! I couldn’t believe a grey ghost just stood there broadside on level ground with no wind, or I never would have made the attempt.
Just picked up a bow in Oct ‘19, and all I can say is learn as much about it as possible and practice a lot! I posted the story/pics in the whitetail forum.

I have the swept blades and they fly great. No experience with the full blades, but doubt you'll see a big difference. If possible, shoot them both.

Anyone know if you can interchange full v swept blades on the same base? (Ie if I have fulls already can I buy swept replacement blades and put them in?)

Awesome thank you; secondary question if anyone can shed some light- where does the 25g difference come in between the 100 and 125g heads? Is it a weighted washer above the threads or is the weight built into the actual point itself?

The 100 and 125 are different.


Pretty certain the 125's are a touch longer, but the difference might be elsewhere.

You can change between swept and full, can't change weight.

It’s built into the point itself. Like @Billy Goat said, the head itself is slightly longer on the 125.

Swept are considered barbed in some states. At least that’s what the guy in the archery shop told me they were barbed and illegal in that state. I have no idea of knowing if it met the legal definition but people are people and have their own opinions
