Planning on hunting Aoudad in Texas with a rifle and a guide in October -November 2022

I cant recommend Roy Hurley with H.E. Sproul Ranch in Fort Davis Texas enough. Roy and his son Hunter are great people and they run a top notch outfit. The only thing I would recommend if you went with them is pay the extra trophy fee and take two sheep. Unless you are going to be super picky you could be done allot faster than you ever imagined. VERY VERY target rich environment!

I did not meet a David. Maybe he is the ranch hand....? I know that they are in the middle of mule deer season. Did you give him your info? I am sure Roy will contact you. You can't go wrong with these guys, it won't be a tough hunt, but it will be awesome!

Lots of good outfits running Aoudad hunts-- we did DIY with WTHO (Mike McKinny) who is a very straight forward gentlemen with lots of access. His DIY prices are the most reasonable I've seen and his guided hunts are right in line with others.

My ram tasted like crap-- and he was recovered, skinned and on ice very very quickly. I'm sure like most critters the diet and surroundings have lots to do with the taste and toughness. One hitting crops and corn feeders will taste markedly different than one eating shrubs off the side of a cliff.

They have incredibly tough hide and hair that dulls knives quicker than any other critter that I've worked up.
