I can't speak for the other dude, but he epitomizes everything that is wrong with the hunting industry......
Really? I don't get this perspective... seems like many people are looking for someone to hate because it's the cool thing to do. Hard to believe folks are so thin-skinned because I find Gritty content to be generally entertaining and mildly annoying at worst. I've seen plenty of harsh words for Steve Rinella, Ron Spomer (aka Mr. Rogers of hunting), and other relatively inoffensive hunting personalities. I'm not going to boycott any brands that these relatively reasonable people are associated with. To me, PEAX does not equal Brian Call; they just happen to sponsor him because he provides mainstream brand exposure. Smart business move as long as Gritty doesn't do something actually offensive or illegal.
I'll save my hate for hunting personalities that are hurtful to our sport; those that poach and ignore regulations, promote unethical hunting, glorify killing, and post incessant, egregious self-aggrandizing and self-promotional crap on social media. I recognize the wolf incident with Gritty, but he faced the music and is unlikely to repeat that offense. Maybe haters have thinner skin?
It's America and you can't blame a smart person or company for making money with sponsorships. The irony is that most folks upset about hunting sponsorship promotions in online content don't think twice about supporting NFL, NBA, NASCAR, or some other form of hyper-sponsored sports media! Nobody's forcing anyone to drink the PEAX sponsorship koolaid.
Getting back on topic, I have a Peax Tipi and am very impressed with the utility and functionality for backcountry camping in Alaska. And they sent me quickly sent me footprint quickly with 10% off for "GRITTY" coupon, which I had no qualms using.
