Not exactly.. This is a misconception, and honestly, one that I used to preach.

Theres only 100 tags given in 380. Nonresidents can draw up to 10% of the permits. Nonresident tags are not guaranteed. Im not sure on the allocation for landowner tags. Last year in 380 there were 12 landowner tags given, 1 nonresident landowner, and 1 nonresident tag. So 86% of the 380 tags went to residents.

The reason people have a hard time drawing isnt because of nonresidents and landowners. Its because theres close to 10000 people applying for 100 tags. Its likely the most overrated tag in the country.
I didn't say they are hard to draw because of land owners or NR's. I said there were about 92 tags available for residents out of 10,000 applicants. Your take is there are 100 so not a huge difference.

Party of two unsuccessful with 1 point each.
Am I understanding right that we might have had better odds with 0 points?

Yes
Man feels like I’m the only one with 2 points that didn’t even get a tag on the release! Cant wait for the stats to come out.
When you look at the stats everyone will have to also take into acount the new HB 635 bill the Gov will likely sign and be in effectfor next season.

It will be taking 15% of the nonresident qouta and earmarking them for wealthy nonresident landowners. It's a good poke in the eye to the DIY crowd. And likely just the start of more bad ideas.

NR Unsuccessful with 2 points, however, I do have a question.... I did the automatic refund if not successful on the permit.. With that said, my account now shows 5 Bonus points and NO preference points. If I was not successful, how did I lose my preference points?? I purchased a point + Outfitter sponsored point at the time of application.

or assuming that I likely drew the Combo but not the permit, I still would have turned back the combo tag, yet they still charge you for the use of the preference points?

That seems really odd..unless it takes them sometime to reconcile the preference points.

Yes. 25% of tags are allocated for people that apply with zero points.

Yeah. I read something about that after we had applied and bought a point.
So next year we will buy a point and have 2 going in or is there the option to buy a point in the fall like WY and another during application to have 3 going into next year?

No, you didn't say that explicitly. But, giving inflated draw odds for nonresidents and landowners gave the impression that those two groups were part of the reason why you haven't drawn a tag since 89. My take was that nonresidents are not guaranteed anything when it comes to permits, and landowner tag allocation isn't as much as you stated earlier.

Party app for general (didn't do permit). Party app says unsuccessful for both applicants but one of the two also says successful (released).

Same for my party application of two. It says I drew the big game combo as released tags, but my partner is listed as unsuccessful.

He’s got to look after his rich buddies after all. It would be embarassing if they couldn’t just get tags with all that money.

But wait the guys on hunttalk are all for it? 😂😕

Principles, ethics and the North American model go right out the window when it means one less nonresident to compete with on public land.🙄
