I guess I must be an old guy with bad eyesight who can’t see my colors like you referenced above.

Like I said, 10% of guys have some degree of colorblindness. It's definitely a possibility.

My vocation involves a lot of color-matching and color correction, and I'm really good at it.

I know the people who love vortex are going to defend them regardless of the evidence presented. There will always be an excuse.

If you don't own it you can't criticize it
Look how pink the pink flowers are in my pictures of pink flowers
But they're so cheap compared to alpha glass
The warranty is so good though

Whatever. I'm not buying or using or recommending vortex hd or uhd glass because I don't like the color rendering. It's unnaturally pink. Period.

If you like it, cool. I just don't understand the compulsion to personally advocate and advertise for companies who literally do not know you exist. It's so weird.

So what do you like and use then? How do you look at the unnaturally green hue that Swaro glass has? Does that negatively affect your viewing experience?

While I agree that a compulsion to personally advocate for companies that literally don’t know we exist is weird, I don’t see anybody doing that here. What I see is a group of us sharing counterpoints in disagreement to your assessment. And our personal experiences are equally as valid as yours, even though we don’t do what you do for a living.

We can tell you aren’t impressed with the UHD’s, that’s great and you’re entitled to your view. There’s a large group of us who are impressed with them, even when compared against Swaro/Leica/Zeiss. And while it’s not the right opinion in your view, it’s just as valid as any of your findings.

No different than the HUGE group of us who will NEVER own a pair of EL’s or NL’s because the field flattener lenses cause headaches for us. Whether they’re objectively better optics or not doesn’t matter, it causes headaches in a not insignificant number of people. Doesn’t take away from the engineering prowess of the NL’s, but it does mean optical quality doesn’t matter at that point because of other issues for so many people.
