Noticed on the side of the highcamp bag there really is not a spot to put a long pocket on the side to hold a spotter or tripod. On the T2 series there is a long section to put a spotter and tripod. I dont see even a spot to attach a long pocket? I noticed in one of the pictures Aron posted the tripod and spotter held down with a lashing, however Im not sure I like that. What are you guys gonna do about that that purchase the high camp bag?

There are attachment points on the sides for the long pockets if I remember correctly. Take a look a the pics on kifarus website, they show the attachment points for a long pocket on the side, the above pic has lash straps covering them. http://kifaru.net/bikiniframe.html

So your saying I can put a long pocket mounted on side of bag where the Aaron spotter is located on brown bag? Id like to mount a long pocket on side of bag to put my spotter and/tripod in. He has them lashed in the pic, Id like them to be enclosed by a long pocket, if the spotter fits in the long pocket

Yup, I do believe I talked to Aron about this at one time also, if you look at the pick of the two hc bags next to each other you see the attachment points.

Also at some point a spotter specific pocket is coming out.

Yes, you can attach long pockets on the side of the bag.

You can attach anything to the High Camp that you can on the timberline.... EXACT SAME common loops.

Aron,
What is your feeling on using long pockets to hold the spotter and tripod on the high camp bag? is that the best option? Any other ideas?

thanks in advance

i found this pic of one long pocket on the side, where i hunt you would not want to keep your spotter on the open pack like the other pic to much rain & bushwacken:D,thats whay i asked for the pic of the 2 long pockets & a back pocket would be the perfect set up for me.

I think I'll just be putting my spotter in my highcamp when I get it unless they come out with a lower profile spotter dedicated pocket.

Tripod going outside the bag is fine by me.

Howdy All, new to rok slide and joined to learn about the Kifaru bags. Man this thread was full of info and helpful to hear various oppinions and experiences. I'm considering the bikini and high camp 1 or 2. Currently use a MR crew cab with xl waterproof stuff sack. Super durable pack but a killer on my sholders with a load of meat. I like the idea of having a lighter set-up with real lifters.

Ok, has anyone recieved any of the Kifaru packs they have ordered with the bikini? Also, If I have questions about sizing of my order, should I call Aron or the office? I'm 5'8", 165 pounds, 31 inch waist, short legs and long torso. With NICE frame I use small waist belt and Medium yoke, any ideas about Kifaru sizing?

Thanks! JD

darcytribe - welcome to Rokslide

The bikini frame hasn't shipped out yet but will be soon. The frame has over 8 inches of travel so no matter your torso length you can adjust for it. I definitely would get a small belt with a 31" waist. With your height you could run the 24" stays too. The one thing you will need to figure out is if you are a flat back or normal back. Pretty much - do you have an ass to hold the lumbar pad or no ass for the pad. That changes what stays to get.

You can call Aron if you have questions about anything. If you call Kifaru too they will help you get what you need.

Give Aron a call about sizing, he will get you lined out on any questions you have.

I believe the first orders of the bikini and highcamp will be shipping in April.

I have NEVER had Kifaru miss a ship date so expect your pack to ship when they told you.

May 20 for my Bikini frame. Hopefully I'll get a surprise in April and they'll be ahead of production.
