Is there a "shelf" above the bottom opening in high camp bag?

Aron, you wrote that bikini frame is more comfortable with lighter loads than duplex frame. How much weight does it take to get them equal in comfort if you understand what I mean. 20 lbs? 30 lbs? 40 lbs?

You also wrote that Kifaru won't be offering the bikini frame in other colors than black because it's another type of fabric that is lighter that the fabric on duplex. Will it be as durable in the long run?
I would happily carry an oz or two more if I was able to choose a color on the bikini frame that matches the bag I choose as with the duplex frame. I really hate black... :) but I really like the weight savings with the bikini...

Just to clarify....

I feel the bikini is more comfortable with weights from 0-50, but from 50 on up, the duplex and bikini feel the same.

I'm on the stair stepper, so excuse any typing issues!

I would say around 50lbd.....most of that is do to the fixed torso pads on the duplex, when compared to the bikini. This is obviously my opinion and is subjective, but the torso pads shift/roll on the b frame and allow for a little better torsional/lateral movement. U also get better venting.

The black material is very durable, just like the standard stuff, BUT it only comes in black and the weight increase was 3.5 ounces for standard.

Thanks for the reply Aron.
I'm gonna use it mostly as a "daypack" (don't want to move my stuff to other bag when more space is needed), and the minimum weight of my daypack is 30-35 lbs that I always have in it. Occasionally it's much more weight and stuff in the pack and sometimes it's really heavy. I haven't decided on the DT2 or DT1 yet. I also have to decide which frame...
Will a small pocket on the waistbelt bounce around with a GPS in it since there's only two attachement points?
Can I get 45 degree lift with 24 inch stays if my torso is 19 inch?

I wish you all a Happy New Year!

I just ordered my frame along with a few other "necessities". Aron, thanks for your help on the stay choice this morning. Now I have to go out and buy all new boots to match that darn black frame!!!

No, you'll need a 26" frame to get that angle.

Well, y'all talked me into it. Wanted a modular pack/frame system from Kifaru to supplement my KU5200. I was ready to pull the trigger on a standard Duplex frame and a DT1 bag but the K hooks, roll top lid, bottom access system, and the weight savings did it for me. I'm not a big fan of the coyote brown but I thought I'd mix it up with some multicam accessories. So, my new system is gonna be

Bikini frame (w/ 26" stays)
High Camp bag (7000 ci)
Two Large belt pockets (multicam)
Grab-it (multicam)
Standard Lid (multicam)
Two Small belt pockets (multicam)

I've already got two medium belt pockets and two long pockets in KU that I may add on the pack as well if needed (or I may get a few in multicam just to keep the consistent look down the road). Already looking forward to breaking it in and I'll be sure to post some pics...three months from now haha

I'm lucky. I'll already have a black-out Z7 and just bought a new Tikka T3 with a black stock.

There you go. See thinking ahead. I just may have to buy a duplex frame with a cargo hauler... you know for the more casual events.

Aron, are you gunna do a comparison betwixt the E&E and a LH lid with pix and weights?
What exactly are you interested in? Iv got both in front of me right now. The longhunter lid is my buddies

One thing I think would he cool is if kifaru made a 500d e&e to use as a lid option for the hunting packs. It's nice having a pack I can break away for stalking and fishing and stuff

This is a photo of the new Hanging Meat Bag. It's a bit more user friendly and works well with all Kifaru packs.

The Meat bag is V shaped, and that will help keep the meat from sagging to the bottom of the bag. It also has two very simple K connector compression straps that allow you to compress it to the Duplex or Bikini frame.

Video to follow soon.

Can't watch the video from my phone but how much does the meat bag hold? And will it hook into the attachment points inside my T1 (I think they are the same three bar type attachments as my grab-it)?

There's a link below the video that should allow you to see it on your phone.

Yes, it will hook/attach to your T1.

It will hold a deboned deer or elk quarter.
