Montana Rifle Co, Shoot2Hunt, and Rokslide Rifle

As Henry Ford said of the model T, you can have any color as long as it's tiger stiped woodland camo. :ROFLMAO:

Hey tiger stripe Camo is cool!

There's only going to be one color/pattern available from what I understand. I leave the decoration decisions to the marketing department. I'm waiting on my samples from NIC to find the right black for the Cerakote... Gotta make Henry proud!

For the eventual wood version, will you guys be making those in house or using the same current producer of the wood RS?

I’m real keen on holding out for a classic wood finish on this one. Any (very rough) guesstimate as to timing of the woody following the standard release?

Agreed. My first MRC will be a wood RS 308 with AICS BM.

There is no wood version. Or at least it won’t be happening for a while.

@Formidilosus I tried and apparently failed to be clear that the cost is not your fault. My point was on why some peoples perceptions may have changed. You clearly took it differently.

Anyway, I'm going to go enjoy the two small caliber Tikkas in RokStoks I have with UM bolt handles, RS1.2s, and no bipod because what you say works actually does work. I'm also going to try my best to bow out of this conversation because I'm not trying to be combative and it appears I am coming across as such.
I, ironically, took your comment as a compliment towards Form’s recommendations and the market responded.

FYI

Edit. I have hairy chest, and need caffeine when driving - black coffee only

Is there a target COAL length for the .223 that's been discussed? With the heavier ELD bullets, it would be nice to have magazines with 2.6" capacity.
As Form said, it'll be done correctly for the application. The hard part on my end is feeding those dinky little things  I'm not sure if everyone knows, but our standard short action has a 3.15"mag box.

Things are progressing on the project, sample bolt knobs heading out to Form for some proper field fingering.

Honestly, I’m thinking @Marbles might be right…

I’ve been shopping rifles lately. The big thing stopping me is how much work I have to put into a factory rifle, no matter who makes it, no matter the price. I actually popped back in to check on the Rostock for Blaser thread… because, for example, the R8 stocks do zero for me. That’s a >$5000 gun on which I would immediately need to change something.

In fact, if I bought one of these it would be the least expensive bolt action rifle I own… while also being indisputably the best choice for GP field use. I’m not a thin barrel guy, and prefer my rifles in the 7-7.5 lb range… but, for running it suppressed full time, 6.5 is about right.

Part of me hopes they’ll see me an action as well…

I know Form is all bout the dbm. So you're saying, the internal dimension of the detach mag is 3.150"? That's a solid for anyone choosing to rebarrel, or (if you offer this) buy and action and dbm and build off it for a custom route. I personally love my crf ARC and zermatt actions. Would be very interested on building on this new MRF action.
