Heartbreaking to loose your dad so young but what a wonderful memory made. We should all be so lucky as to have such memories of loved ones no matter when they leave us.
Man, anyone that has spent some time hunting with their dad should be in tears with this one. Thank you for sharing and deepest condolences for the loss of your father.
Thank you for sharing that story with us. I am so glad that you got to have that experience with your father and that he got to do this incredibly special hunt. What a beautiful sheep that he got with the old Model 70 no less!
Glad you were able to share one last special hunt with your Dad, amazing write up, amazing memories! Truly sorry for your loss, he got to go out on a high note, with loved ones around him couldn’t want for anything more.
Thank you so much for sharing. I did an epic trip with my dad a few years ago and I will always cherish it. Thanks for the reminder to live everyday to its fullest.
This one hit me right in the feels. Thank you for sharing the experience, and a great reminder to not take the each draw, opening day, or experience on the mountain for granted.
Thanks all for all the kind words. It was a blessing to be able to spend a few days with dad where we really didn't have to think about reality and just live in the moment. At the time it just felt incredible to share a hunt like that, and now I'm grateful to have a memory like that to hold onto where I can truly remember every moment and emotion.
Man that is hard to read, I’m happy you got to share that memory with him. I lost my dad to cancer in 2023 as well and your story brought back a flood of memories. Thanks for sharing and cherish that hunt.
Man, your dad is one bad dude. To fight cancer off for so long, have it come back, have brain surgery and then go on to kill a hammer of a sheep?? They don’t make them like him anymore and his strength is something all of us should aspire to have throughout our lives.
I’m sorry for your loss man. Stay strong for your pops through your hunting/life adventures as it sounds like he wouldn’t want to have it any other way.
